Categories and tags not showing in my posts (Big Brother theme)

    Since I published my first post, categories and tags are not showing on my posts (beside the date) as they should. My first post is set to public and as you can see from my categories widget in the sidebar, it has been placed under the ‘Advertising’ category.

    Categories were originally visible in post previews, but I assume that a setting has somehow caused these to disappear when I made my first post, because they are no longer visible either in previews, or published posts. Please let me know how this can be fixed. Thanks

    Hi there. As far as I know the only way to hide those from displaying is by using CSS – there isn’t a setting that would prevent tags and categories to show if that’s how your theme is designed.

    Go to Posts ->All Posts and check if it’s showing the tags and categories there. If not, click on Edit or Quick Edit under the post title and add them again.

    Otherwise, the only other place I can think of where you might have disabled it is under Settings ->Reading ->Enhanced feeds, but those settings only applies to feed readers as far as I know, not your blog’s front page. Worth a try, though.

    Hello – thanks for your help kokkieh. I’ve added categories and tags under Settings ->Reading ->Enhanced feeds, but it hasn’t solved the problem yet. Though is does say I may need to wait for another post for changes to appear.

    This is a really strange problem – I’ve not changed any CSS settings. And I’ve tried installing a different theme, then reinstalling Big Brother, which didn’t work either. Surely there should be a way of deciding what information is displayed beneath a post title (date, categories, tags)!

    That is determined by the theme and we have no direct control over it, but looking at the Big Brother demo site it is supposed to display.

    Hi there,

    After a co-worker and I tested this quite a bit, we discovered that the categories do not show unless you have more than one created for your blog. As soon as you have the additional categories and attached at least one more to another post then they should show up as normal!

    Thanks for looking into this guys – really appreciate it. Will add a different category for my next post and hopefully this will sort it!
