Categories and Tags

I accidentally typed tags into the categories section. How do I remove and unwanted ‘categories’? None of these have actually been used as categories. Also, can I edit categories?

To edit or delete a category assigned to a post (whether it’s a draft or has already been published), go to Posts → All Posts in your dashboard, hover over the title.

To edit/delete categories in your dashboard go to > Dashboard > Posts > Categories

Also, note that search engines treat categories and tags the same way so if you assign a keyword or keyword phrase as both to a post they assume you are a spamdexer ie. a tag spammer.
