Can't find my dns

  • Hi,

    We cannot find our website dns hosting for dorotheecambier.eu.
    Normally a couple years ago we just needed to login with our account and change the dns. But everything seems updated and I can’t find my wordpress dorotheecambier.eu. Can someone please help me?

    Your domain’s name servers are pointed to us, but the Domain Connection upgrade, that used to connect the domain here, expired and was removed from your account over a year ago, so the DNS records you used to have configured for your domain on our end is no longer active.

    What exactly are you trying to do?

    If you still want to use the domain with your WordPress.com site, you’ll need to go to Upgrades ->Plans and buy a paid plan first, as that’s required to use our domain connection upgrade. Once you have a plan, you’ll be able to add a new domain connection upgrade, which will reactivate your DNS records controlled by us.

    If you don’t want to use the domain with us, I recommend you contact the domain provider where you bought that domain, and ask them to set the name servers back to their default value. Then you should be able to add any custom DNS records you need directly with them, rather than paying us for a plan just so that we can manage your DNS.

    My client didn’t know of de expiration. Was there any information send to her through mail with this warning? I cannot image you just remove her account without her knowing.

    The problem is that we don’t know who is the domain provider or who has the name servers in account. Is there a way you can check this?

    After we know that we will let you know what we will do.

    Yes, as a matter of procedure we attempt to process the renewal 30 days ahead of the expiration, to cater for any issues. Prior to that, we send an email notification of the pending renewal.

    When that fails, we send additional notifications leading up to expiry, and again once it fails indefinitely.

    The problem is that we don’t know who is the domain provider or who has the name servers in account. Is there a way you can check this?

    I can see some custom A records on the domain, that’s what is probably pointing it to another host.

    It doesn’t matter if our name servers are there. The domain uses the A records to connect to the hosting provider.

    Your domain provider is https://www.proximus.be/ , so if you’ll need to contact them if you want to access your domain and alter its DNS settings.

    You can create the same email addresses here, but it’s not possible to transfer your messages, filters, labels, etc to our email hosting infrastructure.

  • Hi, sorry for the time that got in between but we had to wait for our client to react. Now they reactivated their plan to premium. But when I look to the dns I see the following (see image).

    How can I handle the A txt-record where it’s says handled by wordpress.com

  • Try going to the Domain’s DNS settings here, click on the three dots next to the A record and delete it.
