Can't embed Flickr video by shortcode
-
I have a video in Flickr with URL:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/rychan/28047614303/in/album-72157671784033485/When I copy and paste the URL directly into the my post, it can show the video, but the size is too small, so I try the following shortcode to customize the size, but it doesn’t show anything, just a black area.
[flickr video=28047614303]The sample shortcode [flickr video=2402990826] is still working.
Is there any problem with my code? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I found another problem.
When I copy and paste the URL directly into the my post, it can show the video, but only in preview mode only.
When I publish the post, it only shows an image, not a video.
The preview link is the link with wordpress.com domain (https://tieuxuyen.wordpress.com), when the published link is my domain (tieuxuyen.com)
I think it may be related to the domain. -
Hi there,
Can you provide me with the URL of the post you are trying to embed the Flickr video into? I would like to take a look.
Have you tried just posted the video ID into the post? Also, is your video set to be hidden from public searches? If so, it would prevent you from viewing the video on your blog.
For more information on Flickr embeds, please visit our support page:

But, let me know the URL, and I’ll take a look for you.
Thanks!

Here is the post I that I copied and pasted the URL directly:
https://tieuxuyen.com/2016/07/30/inai-inai-baa-uta-uta-ippai-nhai-nhai-20-lan/
And its privacy is already set to public. -
Here is another post I use to test the same link, and it can show the video
https://rychan.wordpress.com/2016/04/17/sss/
The black area in the post is where I use the shortcode -
Interesting…
I tried the video on my test blog and it worked fine. I replicated the content on your blog and pasted it in another post and it worked fine as well.
Have you tried moving the content to another post and seeing if it works? There is nothing in the code that I see that’s causing the issue.
Let me know if you are able to try that and if it solves the issue.
Thanks!

It is still the same.
Do you try to publish using a blog with your own domain name?
As I has said, it still show when I previewed (cause the preview link is the wordpress link), but not when I published (my own domain). My test blog always shows too because it has wordpres subdomain.
And have you tried the shortcode. Does it show normally? It doesn’t show anything even in my test blog. -
For more information:
I have tried to set tieuxuyen.wordpress.com as my primary domain and the post can show the video without any problem.
Then I set it back to tieuxuyen.com, and now it remains as an image. And the shortcode still show as black area in both domain.

Verrrry interesting. I’m going to report this and see if there is a glitch that is causing this.
I’ll get back with you shortly.
Thanks!

I did some testing on my end with a custom domain and with a WordPress.com address. the video showed up fine for me on both. I’ll continue to do some testing to see where the issue is coming from.
Thanks!

We’ve had trouble off and on with Flickr before. I’m going to try a few things under your account and see if I can get the video to work. Then, I’ll report my finding internally if I can’t get the video working.
Thanks for your patience. I’ll report back to you ASAP.

The only difference that we find between the posts where the video works (https://rychan.wordpress.com/2016/04/17/sss/ and my test blog) and the post where the video doesn’t work is that the post that doesn’t work have widgets that are auto playing. Can you adjust the widget visibility settings for that particular post so that they are not displaying? if you would like me to do it, I’d be happy to. I just wanted to get your permission. Let me know. thanks!

Unfortunately, it didn’t do what I was hoping it would. I’m going to reach out to the developers and see if they can find the issue and fix it. Although the issue of your video showing up as an image is isolated to this post, the shortcode issue seems to not work at all. So, it’d be a good opportunity to look at both.
I’ll let you know once they’ve responded to me with an update.
Thanks!
