Cannot add subscribers

    Hi, I have administrator level on my site, on which I currently have ONE subscriber. I’ve tried to enable the option for site visitors to sign up and subscribe for email updates, but that does not seem to work (no emails are sent when new posts are added). On my jetpack (free plan) dashboard, when connected as administrator, the option to add subscribers is greyed out, and it does show that only one subscriber.
    Has anyone encountered this and found a workaround?
