Can I speak with Customer Service
I need to speak with someone at customer service regarding an account where our web developer has become unable to perform duties. I need to recover our username/password and change it. It is not on this account but there was no other way to get in touch. I believe it is blueacompletehairsalon.wordpress.com
The blog I need help with is: annag013.wordpress.com
I am in the same boat–admin moved out of state, is unresponsive and organization lacks access to site. What are our options please? Thanks, Fred

Note: all blogs are owned by the original account (email) that created them – you best and easiest is to get the log-in info from the original developer and have them transfer the blog to another account –

So that’s the catch22-I respect that blog belongs to original account, which is great for personal blog, but when the blog really “belongs” to the organization and community, and the original account won’t cooperate or pretends he’s not getting the emails, everyone suffers because blog can’t be updated or changed. Interesting dilemma as raises question of who does the blog really belong to, and if the blog is for a legitimate organization, does the original account’s rights trump those of the organization, and should that person have the right to hold the blog hostage after he/she has resigned post and moved on? Doesn’t seem right. Seems like organization should have some backdoor into the site and should technically own the blog, not the web admin.
Is one option to literally copy the content to another blog, with a better domain name, and leave the old blog inactive? If so is there a paid option for this or a utility? What are other options? Seems like organization should have a right to the blog. Thanks, fred
The developer could have added you as an Admin at any time and that would have given you a “back door” so to speak where you could have done everything except delete the blog (only the owner can delete a blog) – the developer could also have transferred the blog to you at anytime and you could have added them back as an Admin (or Editor, depending on the work they were doing) while they finished the work on your blog
That’s helpful to know auxclass for the future, but unfortunately that didn’t happen and it sounds like others are in the same boat with no ability to access their organization’s site. Fred

Yes, I literally tried everything. It’s just that my admin has the information and I do not so I’m stuck. I just pay the bills. Lesson learned.
If you don’t have any proof of ownership, it may be impossible to recover. But if as you said you “pay the bills” hopefully one of those bills was for the website in question, which if you read the Support doc I linked to may be proof of ownership, and which you can use in the “Need more help?” link in the recovery form.
