Hello – can you please add in the plugin for BuySellAds? I had signed up for wordpress.com rather than a self-hosted site not realizing I can’t install my own plugins! Others must have had similar issues.

No that’s not going to happen here. There is no blogger initiated advertising of any kind allowed on WordPress.com blogs. We cannot post any sponsored or paid content either. For full details, please see:

That’s ridiculous. That would be enough to preempt someone to migrate their site elsewhere i would think

Please feel free to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and move your content into a WordPress.ORG install, because any blogger initiated advertising will get your blog suspended here.

I understand. Thank you for your response. Is there an easy way to migrate the existing content to a hosting site? I have migrated self-hosted websites before but wordpress.com doesn’t give you any access to the file manager so I don’t know if there are any patches currently in place – or if you just lose all of your data

To move your content see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/
You create an XML export file and then import that file into a WordPress.org install. -
