I have read the previous posts about blog scrapers but have not seen this question addressed yet.

A blog scraper must have picked up my post from the RSS feed because his post is already on Google and mine is not. My question is since the scraper used the original title of my post, will Google “view” my post as a duplicate and somehow penalize me?

    Here is my original post:

    Here is the scraper’s post.

It seems to be a German scraper that picked up the word “yoga” in the poem and also some unrelated tags in my cloud tag. Yes, the scraper does refer back to my blog, but I can’t imagine getting any hits from it.My post is not about yoga either. Mostly I’m worried about the same title.

I had a different situation with a U.S. based blogger a few weeks ago who was using my RSS feed and other blogs feeds in his sidebar. Again I noticed it because my posts turned up first on Google under his blog. I wrote to him and eventually got him to take it off.

The blog I need help with is: amusingthezillion.com

Go after the scraper following the instructions on http://stolen.wordpress.com but don’t hold out much hope that professional scrapers will cooperate with polite requests. Take his site down.

He outranks you because blog scrapers blog A LOT. Like, multiple times a day. And they have networks which link among themselves.

thank you raincoaster, I will try my best.

And to add insult to injury my post is NOT even indexed yet on Google! I checked webmaster tools and not only wasn’t it indexed, I had to resubmit due to what I call the angry red X (‘We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap.”)

I was successful with my DMCA takedown notice. Less than 24 hours after I sent it the blog took down the post. now if you go to that link, it says error 404 nothing found. To be honest I was surprised to get the scraper in a foreign country to take it down.

not such good news, my last two posts have yet to be indexed and I had to resubmit my site map numerous times due to red X Google’s crawlers are loony and unfair. The fact that the scrapers post should be picked so quickly and mine which is a serious effort ignored is just wrong

thank goodness for links from other blogs and Facebook while I’m waiting for the tyrant Google!!
