Bigger images in post than on homepage
-
Hi,
The blog I am working on is http://itsgettingworse.com.
As you can see we have thumbnail images on the homepage with a brief text summary of the article, and clicking “continue reading” takes you to the full article.
My query is this: is there a way to have the same image as the thumbnail on the homepage but bigger in the post. I’d like the homepage to remain the same with the thumbnail image with some text next to it, but when you click continue reading I’d like the image at the top of the post page to be the full width with all the text underneath it. Is this possible?
Thanks!

Hi. You are talking about imageson each post being thumbnails on the front page, but full-size on the post? I think you can do that only on certain themes by using the “Featured images”:

I know, but there are other themes that offer just what you want. So you can switch to another theme if it’s really important for you. Or live with the fact that on the front page and the post itself, the image will be the same size.
Or if you purchased the CSS upgrade, perhaps there is a way to change this?

Yeah I’d rather not change my theme because I spent ages getting it to look the way it did!
I do have the CSS upgrade but don’t know enough about it to write any code myself.

WordPress.com is a multi-user blogging platform and CSS editing cannot be used to change functionality by editing the theme or the underlying template; it can only be used to change appearance. Here all blogs wearing the same theme are using the same template. We cannot access the files let alone edit themes and templates — only Staff can access them and edit because every edit they make affects all blogs wearing the same theme.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/editing-themes/As you do not have CSS editing experience you may be best served by requesting a refund for the CSS editing upgrade from your dashboard.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/upgrades/#refunds Then you can choose a theme that does have featured images like airodyssey suggests above.
