I am typing my drafts on Word 2013 and just discovered that I can’t transfer the pdf documents to my new blog…three hours wasted trying!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
Do you mean you’re trying to import your PDF so that it’s your new post? We don’t have support for that. However, you can copy your post and paste it into the Post editor using the Paste as Text function:

Here’s some information about using Microsoft Word and WordPress.com:
Let me know how I can help further!

Not really Shawna but I apologize for the negative ratings. Nothing personal I am just having great difficulty.
Now I am scanning more than a dozen word documents then reentering them on my site as drafts. A long tedious process because my keyboard skills are almost as bad as my computer illiteracy.
And since you asked, I registered for WPB and accepted the “Free Setup” offer four days ago and all I am getting is an inbox full of ads to upgrade or try more services; and links that simply send me off in more circles.
In all due respect I am learning by a cumbersome trial and error process that is extremely time consuming. PLODDING ALONG.

I’m so sorry you’re having trouble! It looks like Kevin pointed you toward learn.wordpress.com, which is our resource for new users. Did that help?
I’m not quite sure what WPB is. Did you mean the WordPress.com Premium Bundle? When you say you signed up for the “Free Setup”, do you mean from this page:
I’m sorry that was confusing. The free setup mentioned there is for the free domain livinginexcess.wordpress.com. If you would like a domain like livinginexcess.com, that is not free (but is included in your WordPress.com Premium plan).
Now, your Microsoft Word issue. Did you try using the Paste as Text function? You just need to copy all of the text in the document, you can do this either by clicking and dragging until the entire document is selected or by putting your cursor somewhere in the document and pressing the keys
CtrlandA. Then copy all of that text by either right clicking and selecting Copy or by pressing the keysCtrlandC.Then, go to your post editor. Click the Paste as Text button so that its active and put your cursor in the text box. Now you can paste your text by either right clicking and selecting Paste or by pressing the keys
CtrlandV.I want to personally welcome you to WordPress.com! We want your experience here to be amazing, so let me know if you’re having trouble and we can work through it! :)

The WPB is “Word Press for Beginners” that I reached via Word Gator.
I will try again but in addition to all the issues that I am dealing with I only recently had to change from Windows 7 to 8.1 which also presented a steep learning curve which has resulted in a PERFECT STORM full of obstacles to overcome.
Then today I veered off on another tangent trying to setup an “About Me” Page with mixed results I am know stuck trying to reduce the size and intensity of the background photo I have chosen.
With all of that I will go back and try the keystrokes you suggest. I assume that you mean buttons on the word document and my WP draft page. If not I will be stuck again.
As you see I am very confused which makes all the more confusing for you. I truly appreciate your patience, Shawna.

Oh Shawna, Good news/Bad news.
I successfully transferred the first document by following your instructions…Thank You!
However every time I tried to transfer another (four times) I pasted the first document all over again?
What could I possibly have done wrong? I started by opening and reviewing the next document before repeating the same steps as before yielding the same results.
Why am I such a dummy?

Hi there!
You’re definitely not a dummy! Getting used to a new system can be really hard. And on top of that a new operating system! I’m sure we can get you rolling here! :)

I’ve never heard of this before. It sounds like something that HostGator maybe offers for their WordPress.org users. You definitely don’t need that for working with WordPress.com.
Definitely check out our resource for new users! You can find it at learn.wordpress.com.

It looks like you’re working on your Gravatar profile. Let me know if there’s anything specific I can help you with!

Stick with it! We’ll get you up and running! :)
