Assigning post to a category
-
I am a newbie. I tested my blog w/ my first post, but couldn’t find a way to assign it to a category. I created several categories and want my posts to show up as archived under those categories. Instead, my post appears as “uncategorized.” What am I missing? I have been all over the dashboard trying to find a box to check or some way to designate what category I wish to have each post put in.
Thank you!

We need a link to your blog, starting with http, in order for us to help you. We have to SEE it to answer.

Well on the one post I see several TAGS, but no categories:

Tags: healthcare promotion, wellness programs, workplaceNormallly all you have to do is create the column and it is both created and selected for that particular post. You might have to go to Edit and check the Category list to see if the categories exist there and if they are selected.

I created all the categories b/f I posted anything. However, it still says “pending” and when I post, there is nothing there (menu, box to check, etc) to designate what category I wish to use. Perhaps I am just overlooking something but I wasted over an hour this afternoon trying to figure this out.

You can’t create categories without assigning them to posts. They vanish. You have only one post. If no categories apply to it, you will not be able to add one until you write a new post, to which the category does apply.
