Ari theme – Sidebar cutting off text and not scrolling
-
Newby here.
I’ve just converted to a new theme, however, the left-pane sidebar is not scrolling which on smaller res screens cuts off some text I have there.
I’ve inserted that text using Widgets > Primary Sidebar > Text.
Using Ari Theme: https://wordpress.com/themes/ari/
Thanks in advance.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I don’t see the cut off on the left sidebar.
Have you tried clearning your browsers cache? See if that works.
Here’s how you do it: https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/
Hope that helps!

thanks mario.
i did try clearing my browser cache but it still appears the left-hand sidebar does not scroll, and is thus cut off.
any other ideas?

Hi jeffreyswofford
I see what you mean.
It appears that this is the way the theme is designed.
If you have a look at the notes under Widgets on the theme page-https://wordpress.com/themes/ari/
Note: The left sidebar is fixed in this theme so it is safe to not to have many widgets in the left sidebar for your readers who are viewing from smaller screens.

If you are on the WordPress.com Premium Plan I can help you change this with some custom CSS.

unfortunately I’m not on Premium. I’m guessing this may be a fixed setting that I cannot view/edit since I am using a theme (and without premium)? thanks.

Try the following custom CSS.
#subsidiary { position: relative; }Select Appearance > Customize > CSS from your Admin Dashboard and enter the custom CSS there.
You need to be on the WordPress.com Premium Plan for custom CSS to save. You can only preview custom CSS on the free plan.

OK … In that case I would suggest using less text in the left widget area if you still want to use the theme.
