Aquene theme: support for alternate logo for "dark mode"
-
I’m managing a site – but I’m not the one who has the premium account so I can’t post in the “premium forums”.
We’re using Aquene theme and like it a lot. But we’re having a transparent logo with black text. And we’ve noticed that when a browser is running in “dark mode” the logo turns invisible.
Would it be possible to introduce an alternate “dark mode” logo and some logic to detect if the background is black(dark) and then swap to the alternate logo?

Hi there!
What browser are you using? Or is it your OS dark mode?
I’d like to try to reproduce it to see if the theme needs some fixing.As a workaround, can you try to see if adding this piece of CSS to My Site>Design>Customize>CSS helps?
.th-bg-white { background-color: white; }
Also, remember that with your plan you can access Live Chat directly via https://wordpress.com/help/contact. That way you can get help faster.

The issue with the “disappearing logo” appears both on iOS and Android when running in nightmode/dark mode, but also in browsers like Chrome and Firefox when using dark mode settings or dark mode plugins.
Thanks for the css tip! But with dark mode being preferred by many users I guess that forcing a white background on them is not a long term solution.. (see for example this survey that estimates that as much as 80% of users prefer dark mode)
Is there any work in wordpress for supporting alternate css for dark mode?

Hm, this may be possible, but it’s a bit above the scope of what we can provide here.
Are you able in any way to post in the theme’s forum under the account which purchased the theme?

I’m not sure the guy who have the wordpress premium account is comfortable with sharing his login – but I’ll ask.
I’ll also github to see if there is any dev work happening in this area.
Thanks for your support.
