Advice on users populating a listings site

    Hi, I’m looking to create a flight listings site where aircraft operators log in to their admin area to list their available flights.
    These listings would then be displayed on the main site for all visitors to see, and click through to the operator.

    I therefore need an administrator facility for operators, linked to a main front end for people looking for flights so they can click through to the operator.

    How is this best done please?!

    Can you share some references to the type of site you are looking to create? If you could share some links to some sites –– we could help you better.

    As for the feature, you are looking, can be fulfilled using a number of options. You can use various user roles to help you with managing your content(they could handle their part of the listings). You can assign them to the roles as authors, contributors or any other role as per your convenience. You might require external plugins, to help you with the functionalities you are looking for fulfilling.

    Every WordPress.COM username account is also a Gravatar account and is associated with a single email address. Only one gravatar will be provided for each username account. http://en.gravatar.com/support/ You cannot register accounts for others and issue passwords for them on a WordPress.com hosted site. For that you need a WordPress.ORG install on paid hosting instead. See: http://move.wordpress.com

    Hi, and thanks.
    The sort of thing I have in mind is for flight operators to sign up as members, and then for them to submit details of their available flights via a form.
    i.e. date, departure airport, destination airport, aircraft type, etc.

    Website visitors could then view all the flights listed by various operators and, if they are interested in one, click a link to contact that individual flight operator.
