-
I know about authors etc, but I’m trying to help another set up their blog if they let me have admin will I be able to do all that’s needed

Yes. https://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator But know that I would never in a million years allow anyone who is not a Staff person that I know every well become an Admin on any of my blogs. By doing for other we enable them not learn what they need to know to be able to manage their own blogs.
I recommend using the step by step tutorial linked to the bottom of your Admin page at https://learn.wordpress.com
See also the “Video Quick Start” tutorial http://en.support.wordpress.com/video-quick-start/
The only relevant support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also linked to on the bottom of your Admin page.

I also advise new bloggers not use the tutorials you find online because they are for wordpress.ORG software installs and not for wordpress.COM hosted sites like theirs.

I know TT I would never let anyone have admin either :) she is finding it very hard to understand.
I’ll copy above and let her read them for herself.
Thanks again.

We know each other so here’s my thinking on this.
Learning how to do new things on our own increases our independence and self worth.
Having others do for us diminishes our self worth and renders us as feeling like we need others to continue doing for us.
The bottom line is that if she cannot follow written instructions then it’s not likely that blogging will be a pleasurable hobby for her, and that means she will become frustrated, and feel that her time would have been best spent on pursuing another hobby.
Don’t create a dependency. Please encourage her to use all the resources available and to post here when she needs help.

I have sent all your links so I hope she takes time and reads them, she wants to be an author on my poetry blog but can’t allow it until she learns.
Thank for your help, until the next time.

Good work. Hopefully she will have enough confidence to set up here own blog. She can always get help with doing that right here. :)
