Adding blog as source in Google Buzz

Is it possible to add blog as external source to Google Buzz?

    Buzz docs say:

The association between a public feed and a Buzz user relies on the Social Graph API to verify that the Buzz user is the owner of the feed. This relationship is known as a bi-directional claim, and it must be established before new external feeds are added to a Google Buzz account.

To make this claim using XFN markup, edit the external site and add a <link> element of type rel=”me” and type=”text/html” with a href value of{user}.

    More here:

So if I understand this correctly, to create association from wordpress side, I need to add link in head element. Is this possible and how?

The blog I need help with is:

No it’s not possible on a blog. We cannot access let alone edit the underlying templates for our blogs at We are all on the same multiuser blogging platform and everyone with the same theme is sharing the same underlying template.

I think I found a workaround, blogged about it here:

In short, verifying your blog in Google Webmaster Tools will also associate it with your Google profile.

Actually, you can do this on a site. The reason is that Google is looking for the rel=”me”, not just a “link” in the header.

    To do it:

    1. Go make a new Link in the Links section of your dashboard.
    2. Set the web address to be your Google Profile address.
    3. Set the Link relationship to be “another web address of mine”.
    4. Save.
    5. Make sure that you have the Bookmarks widget showing on your blog.
    6. If you didn’t already, add your own site to one of the sites in your Google Profile.

Done and done. Just wait for Google to crawl it again and when it does, you’ll see that your site will show up as a “Connected Site” possibility in your Buzz content.

@otto42 – This solution isn’t working on my self-hosted WordPress site. The only thing I can think of that could go wrong is how Google claims a <link%gt; tag is necessary, while WordPress’s bookmarks widget generates an tag. I can see that your site seems to be syndicating properly… Any ideas?

I think it’ s great. bagus sekali. tapi apa aku harus beli handphone lagi…?

The Google Webmaster Tools trick worked like a charm for me! Nearly instantaneous.
