Adding GIFs to articles

we are having trouble getting GIFs to embed in our articles. We had a few of them work in the past, but now we aren’t having much luck. Do we need some kind of widget or plugin?

Yes .gif is an accepted file type. In order for an animated gif to play, it must be full size when you upload it. If you crop after uploading it will not work.
Make sure the gif is no larger than the maximum width for your theme’s post area or exactly where you want to place it. If it is, then resize it on your computer before uploading it.
