add "posted by" below post title in coraline
-
Hi, my blog is at http://arthappenshere.wordpress.com. I do have the CSS upgrade.
When I view it in my browser, under the post title it only lists “Posted on May 16, 2011 | Leave a comment” and I’d like to say “Posted on May 16, 2011 by Mrs. Vance| Leave a comment ” OR BETTER YET, just “Posted on May 16, 2011 by Mrs. Vance” and change the “Leave a comment” button at the end of the post to be bigger and left justified.
What is strange is that when I copy and paste from my browser into what I am typing now, it comes up correctly.
Who can help me?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

CSS can only be used to “style” what is already there. It cannot be used functionality, such as adding the author’s name.
Each theme is different and what shows and what does not is up to the theme designer. You have two options.
1. Add it to the top of your posts as a “byline” such as “by Mrs. Vance.”
2. Find a different theme that shows the author in the post metadata.

@TSP
Do you remember the theme replacement scenario? Guess what Coraline can display the author if you have the CSS upgrade. See here: http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/08/15/author-displayed-or-not/#comment-6289 -
Oh, those tricky designers. You can in this PARTICULAR case put the author in. Add this to the end of your CSS customizations.
.byline { display: inline; left: 0; position: relative; }

To left align the lower “leave a comment” link, do this:
.entry-info .comments-link a { float: left; font-size: 120%; }
I added a font size and you can adjust that as you see fit if you want it larger. It is already bold.
If you want to get rid of the comments link after your name, add the following to the bottom of your CSS.
.comments-link a, .comments-link .meta-sep { display: none; }

@TT, g’evening. I forgot about Panos finding that till you just mentioned it. I was rooting around the CSS in the theme and should have refreshed and I would not have had to recreate the wheel.

@TSP
I recalled it and for once I found it among that disorganized mess I call my bookmarks. G’night :) -
