Account Expiration & Activation
-
How long before WordPress.Com releases a non activated account so some one else can register it ?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Don’t hold your breath. You cannot recover or register any deleted blog URL. Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

Hi TimeThief,
Thanks for the explanation.
I got a another problem related to the same area …
I created a new account, but on the sign-up process I typed the email address wrong. Now I am unable to log in to the account, nor can I change the account email or re-register the same site back again …
The URL for the blog is : webcitynetworks.wordpress.com
The Username is : webcitynetworksThe Email address that should be associated to this account is “[email redacted]”, but during the registration process while I was trying to select a prefect username, by mistake it seems I hit the create account key with the wrong email address on it … i.e. “[email redacted]” …
Now I am unable to access the account using the “Username/password” … nor able to get the password reminder sent back cause the email address on the account is not my email address….
Can someone advice how to get this mess sorted out ??
Thanking you,
Fawaz

Maybe chase down what might be your friend and their email –
Non activated sites do revert to the wild after a while but I can’t remember the time frame
I have flagged this for staff attention

Thanks again, given it a try but no response from the Other Email … :(
If some one can help me out would be gre8 …
Regards,
Fawaz

As far as I’m aware, dead accounts NEVER reactivate. I’ve been here seven and a half years.
-
@RC – not a dead account – a blog / account that was half signed up but the email for confirming the new account went into some limbo so the link was never clicked on to activate the new account / blog, if I read what the OP wrote –
-
Just a Note …
I do have the Username & Password I created during the registration process, but it would not let me login … is this normal behavior ?
-
Yes it is normal behavior – all WordPress.COM asks for is a valid email address, the only way to validate the address is to send a message to that address with a link in it that you need to click on
You could try this – never seen it used on a new account – but worth a try while you wait for the staff to help you here
Account Recovery
Log completely out of WordPress then fill out this form
https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery
What you will need to do

-
The account is active now. If you don’t have access to your account or forgot the password, you can request a new password over here.
Please follow the instructions carefully. You’ll receive two separate emails during the reset process, so make sure you read them both. If you don’t receive the emails right away, check your spam folders as well. The confirmation emails can get caught in them sometimes :)

@All …
Thank you Soooo much for all of you, finally I have got my Blog issue sorted out …
