Access mapped domain

Hello, I have a blog on wordpress.com and have bought a domain to which I have redirected my blog. So far, so good. Now, does anyone know whether it is possible to access my blog as administrator without having to go through wordpress.com? From the domains screen on wordpress.com, I clicked on “manage domains” and was taken to a securepaynet.net website which asked me to log on, which I did, and a domain manager screen poped up. When I click on the GO button, it doesn’t go to my domain, the same domain manager screen reapears. I was hoping that by clicking on the GO button, I would be able to access my own blog as administrator. Is it just a matter of time while the DNS get propagated over the internet or am I in the complete wrong place?

We need the URL of your WordPress.com domain and the URL of your new domain as well, both starting with http.

Here is the URL of my new domain http://ukfrance.org

And here is the URL of the wordpress blog http://ukfrance.wordpress.com

The wordpress one is redirected to the new domain, which is good, but how can I log in my new domain without having to go through wordpress.com? Is there a way?

If I understand correctly, when you’ve mapped your WordPress.com blog to your domain (and not a subdomain), then your domain IS your WordPress.com blog.

If you purchased your domain from WordPress.com, there is a Domain tab in the Dashboard under “Upgrades”. http://support.wordpress.com/settings/domains-settings/

Thanks yarnoholic, I’ve gone through all that already and this is where I have successfully mapped my blog to my domain. The issue I am left with is how I can log on my blog (as administrator) without having to go through wordpress.com. Is there a way to do this?

Your blog is still hosted at wordpress.COM. It just shows a different domain name when someone goes to it – your domain name.

All administration for the blog still has to happen through wordpress.COM because that is where your blog is actually hosted. It is on wordpress.COM’s servers.
