For this week’s challenge, share with us your photos of twinkling light.
American poet John Greenleaf Whittier said, “The windows of my soul I throw wide open to the sun.”
As visual creatures, we are drawn to light. For thousands of years, we’ve gathered around fires in the darkness, soothed by the glow of embers, and warmed by the dance of the flames. We revel in the sunshine of summertime. The sparkle of gemstones or moonlight on water inspires us to poetry. The ceremonial use of light has been practiced for centuries, by many religions and for many different kinds of celebrations. We love the light.

This week, share with us your photos of twinkling light. You will need to find a light source and a reflective surface in order to capture a twinkle, but those are the only limitations. Your photo could be the sparkle of an ornament, as in the photo I’ve shared. Perhaps it is a crisp catchlight in the eyes of a loved one, or the millions of twinkles in the waves of a body of water as a sunrise’s first rays appear. Maybe you’d like to try your hand at nighttime photography, and capture the sparkle of stars. Where there is light, there will be a twinkle.
Haha, at first I thought it said, show us your picture of twinkies. Looking now. Be right back.

I happened to be by my computer this week to do it quickly but it looks like my pingback isn’t working, it wasn’t meant to be 😦
Mine was a twinkle from a newborn, but with quite a dark flash fiction message alongside… http://lauragabriellefeasey.wordpress.com/2014/12/12/alone/

Nice topic, I first thought I should also take something more seasonal but then decided to better go with the Scotland Picture. Hope that is okay for all 🙂

Close as I can get to a twinkle. NB. TRY DROPPING THE S FROM THE HTTPS:// IN THE PINGBACK LINK. It worked for me, but not for the Daily Prompt.

Yeah, I’m not sure why it works for some blogs. I cant see any differences. I like getting near the top of the list, but it’s no fun without the competition.

Thanks to The Ambitious Drifter for the heads up on their post regarding getting the ping back working. Just removed the “s” from https in the link and voila, ping back created 🙂

That was the original problem. Now all pingbacks, except for four that got through first, have been shut down while WP works on fixing the problem, whatever it is this week. Hopefully pingbacks will soon be restored! Working through comments really takes a lot more time.

Aha, that’s a shame 😦
Fingers crossed the clever folks at WP will have it fixed soon 🙂

That’s correct — we’ve closed pingbacks on challenges as well, so that we can work on bringing them back, fully working, for everyone.
We’re sorry for the annoyance and inconvenience this has caused to many regular participants — but we hope the comments here still allow everyone to share their work with the community.
