This week, share something that satisfies you.

“Enjoy the satisfaction that comes from doing little things well.” — H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

I really like office supplies. I like the colors, the designs, and the way they smell, fresh out of a package. I like that they enable me to produce beautiful things, organized things, creative things, necessary things. Even though most people I know use digital calendars, my personal calendar is pencil and paper, and I live by it.

This weekend, I got a new pencil sharpener with titanium — titanium! — blades. I sat at my desk for twenty minutes, sharpening pencils, creating a colorful, perfectly pointy graphite bouquet. The feeling of satisfaction I got from such a simple task was probably absurd to some, but for me, it was enough.

This week, share a photo of something that brings you satisfaction. It can be monumental, minor, or something in between. We can’t wait to see your contributions.

  1. Hi there, I would like to host something similar like this as well. But I am struggeling to create a page with a link for the pingback. Is there any manual of how to create this? 🙂 thank you for your help.

  2. Hello can somebody explain to me hot to host something great like your weekly photo challenge? Is it a special Plugin that needs to be installed? I would love to do something similar but do not know how to start. Is there a manual available for this? would be very happy for some help.
    thank you

  3. Great post Jen! The simple, and sometimes, every-day-things are sometimes over-looked. I’m still using a pencil as my go-to for notes and sketches. Looking forward to adding my post in this challenge. have a great day all!

  4. You and me both on the office supplies! As a former English instructor, I learned that sometimes a new purple/pink/turquoise grading pen or pack of Post-Its was the only thing between me and a total breakdown.
