This week, we want you to show us what inspiration means to you.
To celebrate a birthday, our family gathered at a restaurant with panoramic views of our city. After the prairie storm clouds passed, and before a spectacular sunset, we enjoyed a bird’s eye view of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights — Photo by Krista
The museum — which officially opened on September 19th, 2014 — is a stunning architectural wonder and an inspiration to all of humanity. Its mandate is to educate visitors on human rights abuses, spread awareness, and sow empathy and compassion so that the atrocities of the past will never be repeated.
What is your inspiration? What moves you? What is it that never fails to motivate you, to get you going, or make you happy? It could be the bench in a quiet section of the park where you go to center yourself. Maybe it’s a favorite piece of music or book passage that boosts your enthusiasm. Or, maybe it’s the face of the love of your life, a treasured memento, or the unconditional love you see in the eyes of your pet.
Show me your inspiration! I can’t wait to see how you interpret this theme.
That’s a wide-open theme and it will be enjoyable to see how everyone interprets it. Quite the view you caught in your photo!

Hi Krista!

My second entry for the Weekly Photo Challenge: Inspiration — the Angel of the Waters at Bethesda Fountain in Central Park, New York City. The statue was inspired by the Gospel of St. John which tells of an angel blessing the Bethesda Pool — this sculpture was created by Emma Stebbins, the first woman to receive a public art commission in New York City at:

Seeing your photo and reading your post… my first thought was Nelson Mandela! But, unfortunately I’m no longer in South Africa so I can’t jog down the road for a photo! Great idea though! 😉

It probably comes as no surprise that we’re inspired by the beauty of a tranquil South African sunset, like this one over the Sabie River near Lower Sabie Rest Camp, in the Kruger National Park.

This was an easy one for me.
All of Nature inspires me…. the expansive and the tiny, the soft and the prickly, the beautiful and the ugly, the wet and the dry, the flat and the elevated, the ephemeral and the enduring.
