This week, we want you to show us where you go to get your groove back.
By Have you ever felt like the world was being a bit too rowdy? Where things and people were pushing in, crowding out your quiet thoughts — the ones that need time and space to surface?
For me, there is no better place to unwind than under the warm sun, on the water, with my fishing rod in hand. It’s my happy place.

Out in this section of the hinterland, there are few boats and fewer people. There’s the huge prairie sky, watercolor clouds, thick evergreens, and the creek lapping against the pontoons as we drift on the late summer breeze. A kingfisher might flash across my vision, diving in the shallows for some lunch. I’ll hear white-throated sparrows and blue jays and my own quiet thoughts as my mind settles. I might even catch a fish.
Where do you go when you need to think? What do you do when you need to restore yourself, to ready yourself to take on the coming week with energy and verve? How do you get your sense of humor back? How do you recharge your groove?
I thought of Marc Chagall and his lifelong dedication to the one happy place he knew, his home town of Vitebsk, which features in almost all of his work

I quite like the photo of the sun brolleys. Reminds me of summer.

I grew up near the Jersey Shore (USA) and beach umbrellas were certainly a reminder of summer when you came across them in the shed in winter. 🙂 They do come in handy when you’re relaxing at 6,200 feet above sea level on the shores of Lake Tahoe. Mr. Sun can get a little intense at altitude!
