What are you waiting for?

Penang, Malaysia, is a great destination for my two very favorite street-based pastimes: food and art. Between gorging on chicken satay and Assam Laksa (and occasionally ducking into shops for an air-conditioned respite from the tropical heat), I strolled the streets, finding a new masterpiece on the side of every building.

On one street, all the art had a theme: cats. My favorite was this gray and white specimen, frozen in eternal anticipation of his (or her) mousy treat:

This week, share a photo that says anticipationA candid shot of your niece, eager to blow out the candles on her birthday cake. A photo from the trip you’d long dreamed of. An image of something you hope to have one day, or something that was worth the wait. For those who celebrate Christmas, how about a photo of the stockings hung by the chimney with care?

My anticipation for your photos is building! (See what I did there?)

  1. ERRATA ON MY PART I meant to say NOT SHOWING–So I will repost my comment

Not sure where to direct this question–But last week and this week my pingbacks not showing with the others. Followed regular procedure but for something reason it is NOT showing up on this page. Any ideas…Anyone!!

  2. An outhouse is an outhouse is an outhouse. It’s there in anticipation of your need to go when you needed to go.

But this one is special. Located at the Warasa Garifuna Drum School in Belize, it features the painting of a man and a woman in their native attire making it a work of art and a place of easement at the same time.

  3. Delightful photo…and wonderful prompt just in time for the season! I’ve shared photos of a Dickensian Christmas in Somerset, England. Every year we attend the candlit streets in great anticipation of all the festivities, kicking off the Christmas spirit! I hope you enjoy them and a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all… Sherri 🙂
