Get inspired by illustrated journaling and publish a post based in memory.

In a recent Discover feature, we showcased artists who use sketchbooks to document the beauty of life in ink and watercolor.

I loved the fact that each page celebrates even the most ephemeral moments spent absorbing a place, enjoying a view, or studying an everyday object.

The sketchbook becomes a record of experiences the sketcher can relive for the rest of their life. As artist Jean Mackay noted,

I always aim to make my journal pages reflect something meaningful or interesting from my experiences. I’ve long used art as a way to take a closer look at what’s around me. In recent years, I’ve also been drawn in by the way art can capture small moments of everyday life.

For this week’s Discover challenge, let’s focus on memory. In any medium you choose (text, photography, ink, watercolor, oil paints, collage….) recall an event, experience, or object that holds special meaning for you.
