Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

    1. Those were interesting. One of my axioms is that not all axioms are true. For instance, “there are no victims” is not true. There are some people who are defenseless (ex. children, people with disabilities) and do not volunteer to let others harm them. These are victims. https://gracelead.co

      1. Hey, you are in fact right. However, this is the exception, to an extent. The victim is innocent but once yore an adult, you have to work through this and over come unfortunate circumstances! You have to be better than your trials and tribulations. Thank your for reading!

  3. Happy Wednesday, bloggers! Just added a new post for Bell, Let’s Talk Day. For those that don’t know, Bell is donating 5 cents or more to mental health initiatives for every use of the hashtag, #BellLetsTalk on social media. Please help end the stigma to around mental illness.

We all deserve to live in a world that validates our worth instead of breaking us down for our struggles.

    1. Hi, Your blog is nicely laid out, but I think you need to run a spell check in a couple of places. Especially in the area “What came out of Africa”. Also religion is a fairly controversial topic, and evolution does have scientific back up, so you may want to adjust your views to make them appear as your own. Also the background image to this page is a bit distracting from the writing. You might just want to look at formats to enhance the visuals for your audience.

  4. Hello! I’m still fairly new to this whole blogging thing. Writing is always something I have loved to do, as well as reading! But I’ve never had the confidence in myself to just do it. Anyway I’ve taken the plunge and finally started to post regularly. It’s mostly all lifestyle, I’m reading a book currently and want to start a ‘book review’ section once I’ve finished this one with the hope of reading at least 1 book a month! Any advice/tips/reviews would be very much appreciated!

  6. Hello everyone,

I’m getting back into blogging after a several week hiatus. Even though it’s been 2018 for a while, I have just written a post on reflections on 2017 and looking forward to 2018. Comments and feedback are appreciated!

Reflections on 2017 and Resolutions for 2018

I also have a few questions concerning this post and blogging in general:
    1. How long should a blog post be in order for it to be manageable for the average reader? Would that depend on the content or theme?
    2. Should this post be shortened or split into two posts?
    3. Is it necessary to cite stock photos? Is it enough to give credit in the captions?

Feel free to read and comment on other posts in my blog! 🙂

  7. Happy Hump Day y’all!

I’m relatively new blogger based on blogging on my IBS journey, as well as new ways to cope with IBS and Anxiety.

Was wondering if anyone could take a look at my blog and let me know what kind of posts you’d like to see more of. I’ve just recently added a few more sections and was looking for some feedback on them; especially on Diet and Lifestyle.

Anything helps! Thank you so much, I can’t wait to see where this blogging journey will take me!
