To find, copy, and paste your link:

Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.

Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to his or her very first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment.

Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers.

We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:

  • We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
  • When commenting, the third time is not the charm: don’t share the same link repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Link directly to your new post, rather than to your blog generally — it makes it that much easier for folks to like the post or leave you comments.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
  • To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

      1. Welcome!

FYI: that link goes to your dashboard, which is private, so people won’t be able to see your site. The simplest way to get a public link to your post is to go to your blog’s homepage and click on the post title. Then, copy the address you see in your browser’s address bar and paste it here.

        Here’s your homepage: http://davitodd.wordpress.com/

    1. Hey, even though the link doesn’t work I love the idea behind your blog! It will definitely help a lot of people so it’s good for you to be sharing your story 🙂 I’m going through health issues too and it can be so scary putting yourself out there and being so vulnerable about what you go through, but honestly people are going to appreciate it so much as they’ll be able to relate to you, you’ll be glad you did it. Keep it up! 🙂

    2. I love your topic! I have had similar issues recently (although not endo) and it’s so personal. I bet lots of people will benefit from your blog when it’s up and running! Good luck!

    1. Hi great start! I couldn’t see any categories or tags. These are really useful for drawing readers to your blog (max 15 combined). Categories are great as your blog grows you can ‘file’ posts under specific categories helping you and your readers locate articles that interest them. 🙂

    1. Your background makes me dizzy and I loose my place reading. If you can keep the text box behind the actual text you want me to read a solid color, I could read it without feeling like I’m on a roller coaster. I don’t know if I’m the only person with that problem but I honestly have no idea what you said. I do love your hair pulling lady! I’m truly interested in reading it, I just can’t.

    2. Hi, great start. You may find adding images into your work a way of breaking up the text of a long post. (Not a criticism – I write long posts and I’m trying hard not to!) You have not yet filled your About page – other bloggers and readers do check this out to find more out about the author. 🙂
      Hope this helps.

    1. Hello, I think you’ve got a nice start. I’m totally in touch with “I’m hungry and everything hurts” since I’ve suffered most of my life with endometriosis. Thanks for sharing, it is so difficult to put this type of personal stuff out there. I appreciate it and it gives me courage to keep writing as well. 🙂

    2. I think you have a great start to a really interesting blog. I am also a new blogger and have the same thoughts about if anyone would read mine too and if anything I have to say is of any interest to anyone…I guess we shall see….I look forward to reading more.

    1. I loved your blog. We have missionaries that come to our church to tell us about where they go on trips and it makes me want to go. It makes me excited at the idea. My husband I also home school our kids and have been doing so for the last several years so I look forward to reading blogs about that as well. Happy Writing!

    1. Hi, I’m in awe! Good luck with your adventures this year!
I noticed that you’d tagged your post but I didn’t see any categories ( your post is ‘uncategorised’ you can set categories in the customiser and as your site grows you can use them to ‘file’ your posts making them easier to find for you and your readers.
You may like to take a look at how I have used categories, tags and archives.
      Happy blogging 🙂

      1. Be consistent. Try batch working and have several blogs scheduled to post on preselected days. I have heard some bloggers say they have 3 months of work scheduled to be published to help them stay consistent.

  1. Hello everyone! After a few different blogs and plenty of indecisiveness, I think I’ve created a blog that I can stick with whenever my mood for something different strikes. I’m slowing working through the Blogging Fundamentals course and need to work on my “About Me” page, so any and all feedback, help, tips and tricks are much appreciated!

    1. Great start! Just a few tips . . . You have not written your About page – it’s worth doing as then readers can figure out your rationale behind starting a blog. It doesn’t look like you’ve set up widgets footer or side-bar and you can do this via customiser. You can also set up archives, categories and tags in customiser. These are great for getting search engines to notice your blog. Use a max of 15 tags and categories. I like to think categories are filing system helping the author to sort posts and later for readers to locate topics that they like.
Also, you have quite large paragraphs. Small paragraphs are better for blogging (easier on the eye) and if you can add a picture or too, it’d be fab. as they help to break the text up too.
      Hope this helps 🙂
