To learn more about blogging, take a Blogging U. course.

To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard, your blog itself. Click on the title of your post to open the individual post.

Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.

Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to his or her very first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment.

Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers.

We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:

  • We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
  • When commenting, the third time is not the charm: don’t share the same link repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Link directly to your new post, rather than to your blog generally — it makes it that much easier for folks to like the post or leave you comments.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
  • To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

      1. Thank you so much , I myself am in learning phase. I don’t know if i am in position to give suggestions lol , I would say just go for it, more we wait to perfect every thing, longer it takes to actually get our content out there. I still go back and make changes all the time, I am looking forward to you posts, keep in touch and let me know if there is anything i can do to improve my writing , it is still a work in progress:-)

    1. Great blog. I’ll follow since it involves travel. I don’t get what you mean by experience China from a climbers perspective, but I guess there is more to come. If you’re a rock climber or outdoor type person, I would probably put that in your “about” page.

      1. Thank you 🙂 . There is more to come, but it takes time to write a good post. Thank you for your comment, I will leave it like this for a while and then change it, when I get back to EU.

      1. I love the idea of your blog, I followed ❤️ Also to make the signature I used an app called Canva. I went to the feature to make a banner and just inserted my name and chose a font. Let me know of you need more help and I will be happy to assist!

      2. Omgee. I love canva. Idk why i didnt think to use it for such. I mostly stick to desygner for my blog graphics but i can see myself using both. One for quick graphics and the other for permanent fixtures such as a blog signiture! Thanks again!

    1. Great post! So resonates – my work takes me into care homes.
You have not yet filled your About page. This is really good to fill in as other bloggers do check it to find out a little more about you. 🙂

    1. Great niche blog. There is a default blank text widget at the bottom that you could take out if you don’t need it or fill it in if you do. Also, the social media links don’t appear to link me directly to your individual accounts but instead just take me to the homepages for twitter, Facebook, google+, etc

  1. First Fri-yay!!!

I have uploaded a place holder blog post until the official launch of my blog Jan. 1st!

    Welcome To Creative Crowning

Millennial Moms are re-writing the playbook on motherhood and finally we have a blog that we can relate to! Welcome to Creative Crowning, a kick-ass blog for moms everywhere who are tired of striving for perfection and ready to embrace their ideals of motherhood.

Messy Buns and Pajamas are in full effect, wine glasses are out (even though they are full of scotch), and cursing is the norm. Shit happens and when it does turn to Creative Crowning for advice, tips, and someone to complain to. I am a mom just like you… so bare with me as I adjust my Crown with a little Creativity.

    Time to Tap In,

    1. Great start! You will benefit as you post more in setting up categories to help sort your posts. Take a look at my site to see what I mean. When you tag and categorise (max 15 combined) it helps search engines locate your work – and more readers :). Hope this helps 🙂

    1. One thing I noticed — you’re using a lot of tags and categories on some of your posts. The WordPress.com Reader actually filters out posts that use more than 15 tags and categories (combined) as an anti-spam measure, so using this many tags actually makes it harder for folks to find your posts, which is sad! If you cut your tags down to the most relevant, you’ll actually draw more readers.

    1. Welcome!

One tip — you’re using a lot of tags on some of your posts. The WordPress.com Reader actually filters out posts that use more than 15 tags and categories (combined) as an anti-spam measure, so using this many tags actually makes it harder for folks to find your posts, rather than easier. An easy way to start cutting down: get rid of super-general tags like “story,” and think more specifically about your post and what it’s really about, and what *you* would search for to find a post like this.
