To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

    I hope you had a good weekend. I’d like to share one of my old posts. It’s a short text and a collection of photographs which show a wonderful 5,000 year old stone circle on Lewis; an island in the Outer Hebrides, off the Atlantic coast of Scotland. I’m not a spiritual person, but standing alone among those stones, watching the sun rise was an extraordinary experience. I hope you enjoy this post…

    3. They are lovely pictures and the place looks amazing. I’d have liked to have seen some people in the pictures to give some idea of the height of the stones. How high are they, would you say?

      1. Yeah, me too! I thought I was going to end up using my own laptop like most other remote work I’ve done. It’s very nice though, to have your own home office with equipment sent to you.

    3. Awesome! I really like the way you’ve incorporated the shadow… Language acts as a shadow just like the picture, and the theme of the shadow is also symbolic in the poem. Cool idea!

    8. Amazing concept, Oh you should add the english translations too, The non native readers (Firangis :P) might be able to get more context but amazing blog though.

    I’ve had a fantastic few days on wordpress – a couple of days ago I posted a blog post on my top 5 favourite lesser-known fantasy characters, and to my utter amazement, one of the authors and creators of one of those characters, the incredible Raymond E. Feist (author of the Riftwar saga, one of the most influential and lasting fantasy sagas of all time) actually read and shared my post on his official page!!! How awesome is that?!! So yeah, a crazy few days for me and a highlight of my time on wordpress so far.       I would suggest adding a link to the Poetry class on Skillshare, so that your readers may find it if it sounds interesting to them. Also, when you do publish your collection, make sure to add a link to that as well so that your readers can find it. Other than that, I feel like it says a lot about you and what you plan to focus your writings on. You may want to add a place for readers to comment on your bio, if that is something that interests you.

I will occasionally post words that are Australian, New Zealand, Irish, and Scottish! So you get a definitive AND an original creative writing piece that uses the word. I have fun!
