To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

    For me, it was an extra hour to blog!

    12. I like the look of your blog! Clicked on a couple of different months in the Archive and it all works. The images were a tad slow to appear but it could be my wifi, they did show up eventually. All in all its good! Left a comment on a post as well 🙂

    4. YOUR PICTURES CAME OUT SO AMAZING, although if I may suggest the layout looks a lil off beat, the pictures are extremely small compared to the text, it looks a lil clumsy but other than that, you’re doing an amazing job. 🌟😍

        Are you viewing it on a mobile or on a computer? I think you are right and that it looks really strange when viewed on mobile devices. I should work out how to improve that next!

  6. Hi every swimmer! 😃

    So I hit a fairly large milestone yesterday: my 200th post!! It’s been an intriguing journey, writing flash fiction pieces and poems every single day. I’ll admit it has been a struggle; at the same time, it’s been pure joy. I couldn’t have done a lot of it without the encouragement from you lovely people! ❤️

    As a special treat, I uploaded two posts yesterday. The first happens to be the two hundredth and then after is the combined poem. The combined poem only uses words 101-200. Please come by and check it out! ☺️

      1. Oh gosh. It blows MY mind every single day. I think the biggest thing I have learned from my last several months blogging definitely has to do with building a community. So following other blogs and commenting on them. And when someone leaves comments on my blog, I make sure to communicate back.

      1. Thanks. I have replied and just wanted to say I had a look at your blog and liked your style of writing- your love of travel comes thru- it’s a shame you can’t travel full time and write more lol. Also nice post about the chocolate cake- have noted the recipe 😋 chocoholics unite

  26. Hello new bloggers. Any fellow university students out there? I’ve found that blogging can be a great way to help with essay writing – take a short break from uni work and get creative or write about something that interests you. Your uni work will likely benefit from it!

    2. Not always though. I still find myself struggling with structured writing like essays and project documentation. But that said, I find myself struggling less than my non-blogging classmates 😀
