To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  8. Hello everyone! New chapter for me in life, I know people would say that I am being hard on myself but that’s not really the point. I have been through a lot way too fast I think, so I made a list. 21 lessons learned.   12. Hi! I recently changed my theme from Baskerville 2 to Lovecraft so that I could have a sidebar meaning my readers could navigate easier, I would like some feedback on the look please. Anything from the colour scheme to my font sizing is open to feedback and I will take it willingly, thanks!

  13. Hey guys! Hope all is well! I’m Karissa, and I mostly write about a wide range of topics. My blog is a documentation of my journey to and through medical school and all that life throws my way.

    1. That was a good read. It reminds me of a day I went to a meeting when there was construction taking place just outside the window. Within a few minutes, most of the participants were out of their chairs, lined up at the windows and watching the big machines do their thing. 🙂 https://gracelead.co

    1. I find it quite interesting that you didn’t attempt to ask any women about their views on this. Have you thought of interviewing some ladies who have dropped out of the workplace to ascertain their reasons?

      That might make an even more interesting read…

  21. Hey everyone! I’ve had this blog for several months but I’m kind of rededicating myself to it. The blog centers around the idea that political/religious disagreement can happen in a civil way. My most recent post is along that same theme. I’d love any feedback on anything, but particularly on length (I think I tend to err on the side of too short) and format. The technical side of this isn’t my strongest area. Thanks so much!
