Pingbacks have been failing on The Daily Post — but we’re working on getting them fixed. (Update: they’re fixed!)
As many bloggers have noticed, pingbacks on this site stopped working properly at some point on Tuesday, June 7. This issue goes beyond The Daily Post and has affected many other sites across WordPress.com. Our technical team is working on getting pingbacks up and running again as soon as possible.
First, our apologies for this major inconvenience. One of our most important goals at The Daily Post — if not the most important one — is to foster interaction among bloggers, and pingbacks are one of the main tools at our disposal to help you find each other. So we share your frustration.
Second, while pingbacks are down, you still have other ways to reach out to your fellow bloggers. If you participate in our Discover and Photo Challenges, leave a link to your entry in the challenge comments section. If you published a post in response to our Daily Prompts, be sure to use the postaday tag, and browse the corresponding topic in the Reader to find others’ posts.
We hope to get this all sorted out soon — we’ll add a note to our homepage once pingbacks are working again. Thank you for your understanding, and for being part of this supportive, jovial community of bloggers.
