Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Hey everyone! I’m Ben from This and That Dad. My blog focuses on quite a few areas of regular dad life. From saving tips to yard work to recipes to kids. I cover a little bit of this and a little bit of that. I would love some feedback on what you think! Here is my latest post on fall weed application: http://www.thisandthatdad.com/?p=225

    1. Hi Artesia, I really liked your site. It’s well designed and easy to navigate. The only suggestion I have is to add a LIKE button on your home page, but that’s just me because I really wanted to like your page but couldn’t…Happy Blogging 🙂

    1. Loved your blog! I’m kind of holed up in the house a lot, so it’s cool to see blogs of other peoples lives. I try to feel their adventures. Haha, is that weird? Either way, I loved it and subscribed. Can’t wait for more!

  6. Hi! I’m Mikk and I write about philosophy.
Each post in my Breakthrough Blog is my thoughts unleashed by one particular question. Sometimes I get answers and sometimes my thread of thought leads me somewhere completely different. But I encourage you to think along. Any advice on how to improve my blog’s layout would be great!

    1. Your content is great. I read about the inner voice. It definitely gave me something to think about. I’m new to blogging, but I just bought a layout that uses a plug in on the side where you can show the featured image next to the recent posts / top posts. I think that would draw the reader to the posts listed on the side. You can see here (right bar): http://www.nonamom.com
Also, your twitter feed says it had an error loading and to try again in a few minutes. I did and it still says the same thing. Regarding twitter, if you don’t always post something that will draw your reader in, I’d recommend not using it. I remember I was on a baker’s site and her twitter feed had all sorts of offensive language on it. Needless to say, I did not use that business.
      Good luck with the updates!

    1. Hi ! Congratulations on jumping in the blogging pool. You’re gonna have fun 😉 Your first post is a very insteresting presentation with a lot of references. It has occured to me you might want to copy and paste it in your About Page. It(s like your ID around here and people will seek information about you and your blog there. You might also want to check next Blogging 101 session, it’ll help you a lot with jump starting your blog.

  8. Hi! I just started a blog and I’m not sure if it should be under General or writing? What’s the difference? Also, my blog isn’t about anything in particular, but more of a space for moms to gather and share our stories…should I have more of an outline for what my blog is even for? Thank you!

      1. Yeah sure – I’ve just began there very nice conversational tone which has engaged me straight away – maybe less is more though in some occasions as extended writing does consume a lot of time

      2. I’ll keep that in mind, Chris! Thank you! It’s hard for me to “shut-up” when writing because I just want to get everything out. I’ll definitely challenge myself with a word limit for my next post.

  9. Oh dear, what hope have I as a blogger when I cannot even get started? I’m obviously being extremely dense today just trying to figure everything out and feel overwhelmed by the amount of information here. Except I wanted to start writing and already have several thousand words saved, so I thought I would copy and paste… sadly, the site doesn’t seem to let me do that! Is that right? Or am I being even more slow?
Thank you in advance for your help!
