Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Hi! I have my blog up and running to the point where I think that feedback would be really helpful 🙂 Here is the link to my blog about the Post-grad life! I also have some menu tabs started for recipes and movie critiques because I thought those would be great additions. Let me know what you think would make this blog 1). more reader friendly and 2). more easy to navigate.
    Thanks so much!

    1. I enjoyed your review and I think you did a good job with it as, since it is a practical book, you point out how the information can be applied to your life (and therefore your reader’s lives) and also the problems you had with the book. I think you gave a fair assessment of the book, instead of leaning heavily for or against it.

  2. Hi guys,

    http://maggyliu.com/2015/08/20/my-heart-is-not-berlin/

I would love to get some advice on my most recent piece (which isn’t that recent whoops)

Additionally, I would love to know: what do you guys do when you’re out of inspiration? I, personally, have never been able to work past it. Instead, I just flouder for a while until the feeling comes back. I would love to know how people work past it 🙂

    1. We’ve published a bunch of posts here at the Daily Post on how to combat writer’s block, for example:

  5. Is there anyone out there that can help me set up my WordPress website? I got as far as getting a domain name and halfway installing the TESERACT theme and now I am STUCK! 😢 #middleageproblems

    1. You managed it before. Your name in the comment links to your old blog from 2012, so you can write and post. Keep fiddling with the controls, and see what happens: apart from the “Delete blog” button none can do permanent harm. Could you post that domain name, so I could visit?

    2. It sounds like you’re in the process of building a self-hosted site using the WordPress.org software. This site is part of the WordPress.com community (I know it can get confusing — here’s where you can learn on the difference between the two:
      https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/).

You’re more than welcome to share your posts here, but I’m afraid we can’t do much to troubleshoot issues encountered outside of WordPress.com. For that, your best bet are the WordPress.org support forums:

    1. Gloriously well executed. I love this particular style of sculpture, regardless of whether or not I like the subject. Just so flawlessly done, and how long must it have taken to be completed? Never fails to amaze me. The different angles of the pictures give the effect that the sculpture is moving, which is a really neat (if eerie) effect.

    1. It’s a start. I would recommend working on breaking up your paragraphs into smaller, easier to read blurbs than great bricks of text. Consider adding an About page, and did you know that your footer area contains duplicate widgets? Play with what you have, and keep it up!

    2. HI dinasaur122

I could really relate to this birthday thing. Planning about a resolution for the whole year and missing it on the birthday has become a bitter fruit for me. Trying to stick on to the plan is the only thing happening everyday. So keep trying:)

Just check out my blog about 26th birthday

    3. NIce content. Great gif.
You should probably learn to use options, that image in the middle of the post, centred and with a bigger resolution would completely change the look of the post.
Break in to paras, 3-4 sentences optimum in each.
