Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once! We tend to delete duplicate comments asking for feedback on the same post.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • When leaving comments, please remember not to add your blog’s url as your signature. It’s kinda spammy: after all, your handle links directly to your blog.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. I may not be new to blogging but I still feel that theres soo much to do.. WordPress gives me that platform to interact with new people and get their point of views on things around me or around them. I love blogging and I love the fact that even in my fairly boring routine life i manage to create something.. Take a look at my blog and connect with me 🙂

  2. Hi, I’m fairly new to the blogging game so would love some feedback on my blog https://authenticfemale.wordpress.com/ I mainly blog about life and London but would like to move into travel blogging in the future.

I’d love it if you could give me some pointers, particularly on my newest post wp.me/p5yPUF-1H about my hilariously awful experience with Tinder?

    Thanks! 🙂 @authenticfemaleblog

    1. They’re certainly not too long! I used to aim for a particular word count, but I found that I was sometimes cutting things I wanted to keep, or adding less interesting things to meet it. In short: use as many words as you need.

  3. Hello there every one! I actually read a few of your comments as well before leaving mine. I found the information great as I am a new blogger too, and to be honest, grabbing straws as far as I go…but I have always believed one should learn from reading, making one’s own mistakes and dive in…stick to it and get going. I will sometimes be far too busy to write frequently enough but when I do find the time I will make sure I make up for it all. I’m grateful for people like you all willing to assist new bloggers like us…seeing that I never thought a few years ago I’ll even touch a computer, let alone blog.

  4. Hey everyone! I’m very excited to be a new blogger. I’m still working on the formatting of my page, which you will see very quickly upon visiting. But I am beginning to post a few things. I just began one called Tips & Tricks for Budget Camping. It’s not completely finished, and is waiting on some images, but it is the most progress that I’ve made in the week that my lovely little Creating My Homestead blog has been up and running. Please give me some feedback on the looks of my page and posts, and feel free to suggest future posts!

  5. Hello amazing bloggers of the world! I am relatively new to blogging but have made the choice because I’m sick and tired of seeing people in bad debt! Or have bad credit! My blog focuses on how people can back on track and what to avoid!

  8. Hi friends, my blog is about 2 years old but has not been living up to expectation. my followers ones grew from about 16 to 208 after a single post towards the end of last year. i still believe that’s an error because my all time total traffic is still below 500. i don’t really know what the problem is. maybe i don’t write well enough, my audience not well defined or I’m not just interesting enough. please advice me. do well to be raw. thanks

    1. Hello,
are you posting regularly? What are your topics about? Are you tagging? Sometimes it’s simply a matter of staying engaged with your audience, commenting on other blogs for exposure and to just be a part of the blogging experience and helping the community with your active communication that will help bloggers find you. 🙂

  9. Hi my loves. I wrote a personal reflection today on my blog about growing up, when we do.

    https://itsdollydarling.wordpress.com

Here’s a small excerpt: You never know when it’ll be the last time you do something that seems so innately natural and permanent, or when you’ll stop calling out for your mom, or when you decide to stop being a kid, but there always comes a time. Because if we knew exactly when these times came, perhaps we would never let it.

Let me know what you guys think 🙂 Or if you can relate. Comments on the post are most welcome. Thank you!!

  10. Hello there! I’ve been blogging for a little while now and I’m struggling to keep up the momentum. It is challenging as I don’t even know who my targeted audience would be…but any sort of feedback I can get to make my blog more desirable to browse through I’d love to take in!

    1. Hello Mandi:)
Your blog looks interesting, my first suggestion would be for you to decide what is that you want to write about and then you’ll know who is your audience:)
Make yourself a schedule…do you want to post once or twice a week or every day? This will help your readers follow and keep up with your posts.
Keep adding photos to the posts, maybe work on your about page, your readers always want to know more…share a story or the reason you’ve stared blogging:)
Categorise and tag, two things you should never forget when posting, which I saw you’ve been doing…well done.
Your blog looks very neat and easy to navigate, make it a bit more yours!
Personally I found the posts a bit too long, but that is just me:)
Get involved in some challenges…photo, writing, that will help you meet other bloggers and more inspiration:)
I host a quote challenge every week, but there are other daily prompts from The Daily Post you can check out:)
      Hope it helps:)

  11. Hello everybody! I’ve been making progress on my writing of late and had actually started loading new posts frequently, but now I feel I’m at that moment where I can hardly push myself to write anything! any ideas as to how I can counter this?

  12. Tad late I know but I don’t check WP everyday.

    Maybe I should.

Anyway, here is my latest post.

    http://advancedmisanthopy.com/2015/06/21/glastonbury-2015-it-isnt-only-the-cows-that-are-miked-at-worthy-farm/

I know that the design/layout is doing me no favours whatsoever, so suggestions as to new themes welcome.

Also plain English advice on how to change WP domain name and migrate existing posts. WP do have a ‘how to’ on their help pages but it’s all blah after a while. Looking for something for a Luddite.

    Thanks!

    1. Hello!

While we don’t have another resource to help you find information on this topic beyond our support page, I’d be happy to walk you through any of the details you found confusing or difficult to follow.

Alternatively, feel free to email your questions to support@wordpress.com if you’d like a Happiness Engineer to help you with any of this.

  13. Hi All,
Trying to be more devoted to my blog. Posting to Facebook regularly and passing word of mouth. Can I get some feedback from others on my content or style? I haven’t decided on a final theme/look as I can’t make up my mind. I’d really appreciate any commentary or feedback!
    Thanks!

    1. Hi:)
I like your blog, has some interesting topics:)
As feedback, create an about page, I couldn’t find one, readers always want to know their author!
The theme you’ve chosen it’s more for a photo blog, which is fine, as long as you add a picture to each post, otherwise the main page has some blanks:)
Have a look around, you might find some other themes which will make your blog look better:)
      Hope it helps!

    1. Hi there, I really liked your post (I’m a knitter too) and I think the way you’re going about making that scarf is neat. Writing wise, I just might add a quick recap at the beginning of the post to explain what’s going on a little more for those who haven’t been around since you started the project (not that its difficult to figure out, but it takes a few lines to figure out when jumping in cold). Mostly because you don’t have “previous” posts or anything similar links around for a quick route back to the beginning of the project. The only other thing I noticed is that the featured picture is followed almost immediately by the same picture, so maybe just take out the second one or shrink it down a bit to make reading easier.

      Hope this helps!

      1. Thank you for such thoughtful feed back! I thought I put a link to my first post on the first line – I have to fix that but I’ll make sure to add a re-cap to make things easier. I’ll fix the pictures as well since they are a bit awkward now that you mention it… Thanks again 😀

  15. Hiiii….I am new to blogging and started a week back. My blog is mainly about marketing, advertising, branding and other stuff. I keep updating the posts and am mainly focusing on the content. But as of now I don’t have many viewers to my posts or any comments so little afraid as to how is it gonna be further.
