Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once! We tend to delete duplicate comments asking for feedback on the same post.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • When leaving comments, please remember not to add your blog’s url as your signature. It’s kinda spammy: after all, your handle links directly to your blog.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

    1. I love your blog krai. Especially your poem, “Wait”
My opinion which is totally fine if you don’t agree, on the layout of your blog is that I was misguided, thinking that it’s a photography blog. 😀

  1. Hi, bloggers! I hope you’re all having a good night. My blog is a “literature lifestyle” blog– you can find it at https://littlelitterateur.wordpress.com/!

I’d love to know people’s general impressions when they see the page for the first time. Is the font too big? Is it clean and nice looking or just boring?

And, of course, if you’re interested, I’d love to know anyone’s critique or thoughts on the posts themselves.

Hope you all are having a great summer (if it’s summer where you live)!

  2. Hi!

I just started my blog where I post the recipes for ice cream and other frozen desserts that I find from around the internet. There isn’t much on the blog yet, but I think you can get a sense of how I am doing things. Recipe/picture/link back to the original blog for credit. I’d like to know what people think about my layout and would love to hear critiques and suggestions. Thanks everyone!

      1. Great blog! Simple and refreshing. Your posts don’t beat around the bush before getting to the recipe and I like that.

It would be nice if you could update the About page, even though the blog name does it say it all. Maybe tell us how you came to be the ice cream recipes guy! Or if you’ve made any of these ice creams yourself…?

        All the best 🙂

  3. i would love any/all tips! my blog is a a record of my thoughts about a movie i have just watched (i hesitate to say review, as I am supremely unqualified- hence the purpose of the blog). I think that I can come across as stuff/pretentious in some posts, and then too laid-back in others- thoughts? is there a way to reach a happy medium? also the theme i have- does anyone have any idea how to make an about me page button? for the life of me, i can’t get it to appear on the home page- thanks!

  4. Hi friends!! I am a new blogger. I love reading and somewhere inside me was an urge to write, but always has an inbuilt fear that “I CANNOT WRITE”. On much persuasion from my hubby I took a pledge to overcome my fear. AND here am I.

Need feedback on my recent posts and would love to connect with people round here.

Also would love to have opinions on how can I improve my site and writing skills.

    1. Hi Niharika, love your latest post on monsoon season~ Your blog and posts are wonderful, don’t hesitate, keep writing!!

If I may suggest, you could organize posts into categories and display them on the blog menu/sidebar so readers can easily find any topics that they want to read.

    1. While publishing posts regularly is crucial, there’s more you can do attract more readers. For example:

      1. Thank you! 🙂

No, I would need a custom WP site to increase my font size :I. Other than that, I have to enlarge the size of the page with my mouse :I

But, thanks that was helpful to know! 🙂

  11. Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I stopped here, but the weather’s just been too cold for the pool.

Anyway, over the past few weeks I’ve been working on breaking the mold of my poetry: I used to follow a very strict pattern. I think I’ve well and truly broken the pattern, and if you’d like to drop in and give me any feedback that would be much appreciated.

My latest mold-breaking poem is here: https://tuckedintoacorner.wordpress.com/2015/06/23/poetry-101-rehab-found/

    Thank you in advance!
    Sarah.

  12. Hi Everyone, we’ve been re-jigging our lay out a little and were wondering what you think. Still trying to get the hang of what to where (sidebar etc) and figuring out whether there are too many features, or whether somethings might be missing. We would love to hear what you think.

    1. I’m not an expert where I am new to blogging, but I have had a small amount of success getting some traffic by visiting other blogs. So many people write amazing posts! It’s fun to explore!
