Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once! We tend to delete duplicate comments asking for feedback on the same post.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • When leaving comments, please remember not to add your blog’s url as your signature. It’s kinda spammy: after all, your handle links directly to your blog.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Hi friends!

I have recently started blogging more often and I really want to meet other amazing blogging friends! I write about everything here and there, fashion, travel, beauty and just opinions about life in general through my experience.

I just posted about my recent travel trip and would really love some feedback on it! It was my first time writing about my travel so any advices will help!

I would also love it if you could give me some general advices on how I can gain more views with my posts cuz it sucks when sometimes I spend so much time writing it and getting no views for it. Anyway, thank you again friends! 🙂

  2. Hell everyone, I just discovered this platform and it sounds perfect. I am quite new to the blogging world and have just published a post about a film. I would like to have your feedback on the same.
I watched this film called Court a few days ago and have written a commentary, opinion piece on it and NOT a review. Let me know what you think? Is it okay to reveal the kind of story details I have revealed ? Just let me know 🙂

Here is link to the post- https://notinournews.wordpress.com/2015/05/15/commentary-on-court-film/

    1. Hell there, I think you have managed to convey what you wanted to in this simple poem. And that is what mattes most of the time. I loved the line ‘any way you can come back?’ I also think it was a sound decision to not edit it and retain the rawness of the poem . Keep it up.
And RIP to your grandfather 😦

  3. I am trying to use my word-press blog as my primary website. Mostly because I was told that website with fresh content get better results and updating word-press is much easier then a traditional website. I was thinking of doing a static page kind like a traditional home page instead of my blog posts. Then I wanted to have a few pages for my different blog categories. http://www.lanternslight.us/ Anyone else blogging for there own business, or have anything useful I would appreciate it. Thank you.

  5. Hi. I started my blog just under three years ago. However I have had some issues with inactivity and feel my blog is a little childish now. I could do with some feedback to encourage me to blog more so I don’t get long inactive periods again.

  6. Hello all. I just started my personal finance blog a week ago. I have three posts so far and wouldn’t mind getting some feedback on their content. They’re titled “The Government Doesn’t Want You to Pay Taxes, Delayed Gratification, and The Simple Trick to Early Retirement. General design feedback would be appreciated too.

    1. The best way to get followers is to comment and follow on other peoples blogs. Usually try to stick with those that you are truly interested in reading. Also get an account through various social networks such as Facebook, twitter, and google etc. Linkys are also a great way to get new readers to your blog.

    1. I am not sure the answer to that question.. Every theme I have ever had has had a side bar for widgets and I always place my follow button towards the top. Did you choose that theme because you plan to have a lot of media on your site?

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Thanks for replying. I chose the theme because I like the cover page display and I think it’s easy for users to navigate. I’ve tried with the widgets, but there must be something I’m missing…

  7. Hi Everyone. I started my blog in Oct. of 2014 but didn’t truly get serious about it until the end of Feb of this year. I have switched various themes…made my own logo…and have worked really hard in the social media aspect. I would love some feedback from those who aren’t familiar with my blog. Thanks in advance and here is the link http://domesticatedmomster.com

  8. Hello Bloggers!

I recently launched my new blog and am trying to get the word out about it! I’d like to know if the layout is too plain. Also, is the topic to broad? I am trying to keep it interesting by varying the posts in length and format as well as consistent by posting on Mondays. Please check it out:

    Thanks! Liane

PS: I’ve checked out a handful of blogs from this comment section and am totally amazed at what people are doing, great work 🙂

    1. Well, it’s not anywhere near as plain as mine! I love your post on stinging nettles & have commented on it. This looks a great, helpful page to me. Good luck with it. Also please check out my blog, if you get the time. Thanks Liane!

  9. Do you think photography posts look more appealing with the photos listed individually as I did in this post or with the photos set into a tiled gallery like in this post?  Thanks for any input you provide.  🙂

    1. I think the former post, with the individual photos, as in the latter one, the grouped pictures get muddied & not so easy to concentrate on any one. Lovely photos though.

      1. Thanks for the compliment and for sharing your opinion. I’ve tried the tiled gallery posts lately because I was attempting to keep the posts shorter. I’m not good at narrowing the number of photos down to just a few!

    2. Id definately say the gallery looks wayy better.. maybe right now the former post attracts you more because the quality and brightness of the yellow flowers is much better.. hope this helps .. take care

  10. My blog is totally egotistical. And, I am honest about that. It’s my feeling, my thought, my musing, my way of throwing my thoughts out there. Maybe you like what I post, maybe you think it silly. Maybe, you relate. Maybe, you laugh. Maybe, you think I am stupid. It’s all good. I would love your feedback.

    1. I love it. Especially the one about ‘updates’ & stuff. I always worry that, when I have to ‘agree’ to something, the miles and miles of words that follow before you get to the agree bit, may contain some clause that will lead to me signing my life away, joining the foreign legion or some such. Your blog is all those things you say, but you’re not stupid. I too have a blog. I shall check yours regularly.

    2. I read your article on venting love the bit about laughter, I agree that its what you need to make yourself feel better about the annoying things that happen in life. But your totally right there is not always the time to enjoy this with friends, I find when I have the time to see my friends we spend most of the time catching up on life, that the laughter over the trivial things is lost. Ive written a new post of my blog about jealousy, if you’ve got a spare 5 mins would love your thoughts https://stephwithers.wordpress.com/2015/05/21/the-green-eyed-monster/

    1. Hi Tracey. I do not have Fibromyalgia myself, but a whole host of other conditions. It’s always good to find pages like yours, which cover medical conditions that aim to help people cope with their symptoms & feelings. So it looks a perfectly good blog to me! I also looked at the other page that pops up when I clicked on your name & that looks to be very well established, so no comments needed there. But I feel sure that your new page, will do just as well as this one. I have only just started blogging myself https://puttingmyselfdown.wordpress.com & have 3 posts so far & an awful lack of readers, mind you, this is only my second week, so I hope that all improves eventually. Please feel free to peruse my feeble offerings & add any comments if you wish. Thanks & good luck, Gilbo.

      1. Thank you so much for giving my blogs the once over and for your comments, they are much appreciated. I visited your blog and considering you have only just started you have certainly been busy. I loved your Mo – bile article, it made me chuckle as I remember using the old, faithful phone box. My only comments would be to maybe complete your ‘About’ tab as this was the first thing I clicked and just got the generic wording, so maybe something for you to think about. Other than that, maybe just a few more of those lovely photos, show those kids what a real phone looked like 😊
I understand that if we follow blogs it is supposed to help with our traffic, I don’t know but I will be happy to follow you and maybe you can repay the favour. Good luck with everything and thanks again.

  12. Hello blogging buddies. Could anyone help me regarding adding pictures to my posts please? I looked on help, then went to Getty Images, found the picture I wanted, followed WordPress’s instructions to the letter & just ended up with a whole lot of code, but no picture. I tried a few times, to no avail. I suppose I must be doing something wrong, but can’t see how. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    1. Hey Gilbo, Thanks for your comments on my blog! I see this question that you have and my initial thought is that wordpress is blocking the image because of copyright laws! Unfortunately, some companies won’t let you publicly reproduce imagery so you’ll have to find another source.

      1. It’s okay now thank you Krista. I have finally managed to upload an image I wanted. farmandgrowandlove was probably right, over the whole copyright issue.

    1. What is your blog going to be about? If it has a common theme getting involved in the discussion on forums relating to that theme and having the details/link your blog in your signature has always worked for me!
