Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once! We tend to delete duplicate comments asking for feedback on the same post.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • When leaving comments, please remember not to add your blog’s url as your signature. It’s kinda spammy: after all, your handle links directly to your blog.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Afternoon, all. Leisel from Skill Up Skillet here ( https://skillupskillet.wordpress.com/ ). I write a geek and game inspired food blog which updates with a new recipe every Thursday. I’d love to get some overall feedback on the site as it seems to be an uphill struggle gaining readers, but I generally get excellent feedback. Is there anything I could be doing better?
I’ll be back to check out some other blogs later; I have some supplies to pick up for this week’s post. Spoiler alert: Harry Potter snitches!
    Cheers.

  2. Hi all! I recently started blogging as way to boost traffic in my fitbiz MODAVate. My ideas are all over the place but from what I have seen this is ok. Am I right?

  3. Hi everyone. I put a request for feedback on here earlier, but as yet, have not noticed any comments for me. This could be as I didn’t put on the blog address, just left it for people to click on my name, as somewhere else, it tells you NOT to put your URL on here??? Anyway, I think I shall have to do just that to get a reply or two. I hope. Here it is: https://puttingmyselfdown.wordpress.com/ If anyone would like to make any suggestions like needing pics or a different theme or whatever, I will gladly take that on board. Thanks very much! I will also give you (or anyone) some feedback if I can be of any help.

    1. Hi Gilbo, I understand how you feel, I only had a few comments on mine as well, and yes, you can click on the name and get to the site.
I think I get what you are going for, my brother could tell fabulous funny stories like that, keep working on getting the funny across to people who don’t know you. I think some pictures would help a lot. My blog is of a completely different nature so I am always looking for a little comic relief to link it to! check it out if you have time.

      Thanks!

      1. Hi Keli! Thanks for your very positive feedback. I had a look at your blog, it looks very intelligent. I can also see why you love life, if part of that comes from living in Kauai! I would offer to swap places, but I know what you’re gonna say already. Where I live is also pretty nice too I guess. I will certainly link to your blog on my page if I can. I’ve only been on here a week and don’t know how to do that yet, but I will find out soon, as I’m going to try to ‘improve’ my page if that’s easy enough. Good luck with your blog. Thanks again, Gilbo.

      2. Thank you! I’m not sure how intelligent it is, just expressing feelings. I cannot wait to visit England some day!! It has taken me a year to figure out the bells and whistles on word press (I had another blog that i scrapped) and I don’t know how to link to another blog yet either, but we’ll figure it out. Good luck to you as well!

    2. it tells you NOT to put your URL on here???

There’s an important distinction between leaving a URL to ask for feedback and leaving your URL as part of your signature in comments you make. Some folks have been known to use their URL in their signature, which comes across as a bit spammy:

Your blog is amazing! I love it! Your header is beauty personified. Your writing is more eloquent than birdsong.

Posting a url to ask for feedback is perfectly fine.

Success in the pool is often based on what you put into it. We often notice that the folks who get a lot of feedback and replies are the ones who take the time to offer feedback on others’ blogs.

    1. Hi Kinnii,

You’re welcome to share your blogging event here and ask for feedback on your blog, but please don’t share your blogging event repeatedly. It comes across as a bit spammy, and the duplicates will be removed. Thanks!

  7. Hi fellow bloggers! We have started our travel blog two weeks ago during our roadtrip in Sweden. We will soon start traveling for a full year (Japan, Central- adn South America) and we want to take those who can’t travel with us through our blog. As our stats differ a lot per day we would like to find out why. Feedback on our blog is very welcome (length, content, style, quality of pictures etc.) Feel free to comment, we would appriciate it a lot and we would be happy to check yours and leave some constructive feedback in return. Many thanks!

    1. Hi, I like the clean crisp style of your blog and you have a great writing voice. As it stands, I am wearing purple today, but was unaware of the colours significance until I read your post. Keep smiling and keep sharing your stories!

We are new to blogging too, but so far have been told that it helps to link your blog across any social media you use, and share share share.

  8. Hello everyone! I am very new to the blog world and recently started a blog about my 300 days travel experience while living in Spain. Will be happy to listen to your feedback, answer all the questions and if you have any suggestions or would like to know something (for your future visits), I will do my best to investigate and accommodate you!
    Thanks so much in advance!
    I hope you enjoy it.

    1. Hi there! I checked out your blog on my mobile and it looks nice, very well put together. The colors are aesthetically pleasing, the quality images bring life to your posts. The only thing I’d suggest you work on in the future is shortening your beauty blasts from the past posts. The lastest one, although well written, may have been better off as 2 separate posts. One post could have been hair related. The other, makeup related.
      Overall, great job!

    2. I am so jealous of 300 days travel. I have 11 days in Spain this year, only 289 days short. You have a lovely blog. I commented on Ojalá. I would like to recommend my blog too, although it is anwhere near as good looking as yours.

  10. Hello all! I am a rookie to WordPress. ..just published my first post last night. I intend on writing about growing up with a very mentally ill mother…it’s my way of coping. It doesn’t get easier as I get older, just different. I have no particular direction what I write. Just going to let it flow. Thank you for welcoming me to the community. Looking forward to reading lots of your stories.

  11. Can anyone help me with my site please? Basically I want to organise my blog posts with a widget or some other way so people can visit site and click on categories to read what’s there but I can only see how to do that if I have blogs on front page. It’s not an issue while I only have a few blogs but as i write more I would like people to easily find the old ones….. Any ideas appreciated – Anna
