Community Pool

The place for advice, feedback, and friendly blogging chatter.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  2. Hello All! I am brand new to blogging and actually have just taken up the challenge to get back into writing after years away. I am not very tech savvy so am learning as I go and it’s a little rough, but I would really love it you could check out my blog and let me know what you think of any of my posts and/or my blog. I’d love your feedback, critiques or thoughtful criticism and please be patient with me as I figure out how to navigate around and read your posts as well! It’s Remembering Language at:

  3. I am very new on here and only have 2 posts….I have always loved writing and am trying to get back into it since our daycare situation has become very iffy….I may have to leave work and stay home with our children and am working on becoming an effective blogger. Constructive criticism is always welcome and I look forward to any feedback 🙂

  4. Hi everyone,
I created this blog for personal development just a few days ago. As an NLP practitioner, my intention is to help people succeed in life. I discovered that we can create the life that we want through the Law Of Attraction using NLP technology. I have posted a few articles and practical exercises already and I wonder if you can find some resonance with any of them. I am not a veteran writer yet but your comments and suggestions, positive or negative will help me gain the experience. Please let me know what you think.
    Thank you.

  5. Hi everyone! I’m excited to read and give feedback on some, if not all, of the 50 some links above. I just started my blog and would love some reads and feedback. I hope to do a post a day in November, but found it hard to share my insights today. Constructive feedback on getting the thoughts to post, along with feedback on the two posts thus far, is greatly appreciated.

  6. Hi guys. Would love to get some feedback from you about my blog. How do you think do the category pages (menu) work? http://amommasview.wordpress.com/
Re the category pages, taking “My Life” as an example: Should I list the links to my posts there or just leave it with a little note and then have links to posts in the sub-categories “Family” and “Expat Life”?

Also, I am trying to create a “Best of” page for my readers to vote on their favorite posts. Mainly to make them read the older posts as well (they all are not that old just yet). But I am not sure if it is a good idea at all. What is your take on it?
