What is your personal system for blogging?

You folks who read Dailypost are some of the most active bloggers on all of WordPress.com. Which is quite impressive. We’d like more bloggers to follow in your foot (and finger) steps.

In our never ending quest to keep learning about how bloggers do their work, we have a few questions for you.  Would you mind taking a minute to give us some thoughtful answers? Its only 5 questions long. Pretty please?

  1. 1) I try to put my post to have max 2 categories, 1 is main and second is sub categories.
    2) Tag, I put max 6 only, to make sure wordpress tag generator not classifed me as spam.
    3) Make it nett as posible in front page.
    4) Every post must have photo, I think that create a lot of impression.
    5) Most important, use external blog writer as “Live Writer”. Easy to manage and edit the blog offline.

    1. I kinda do the same and I like using ‘Live writer’. I find that the online writer is not handy. Live writer is easier for the lay-out!
Wordpress should work on it’s online writing service!
Every weekend, I decide what wil be on my blog during the week and fill in my calendar. If I need inspiration I keep in mind what sort of article I’m looking for and on my way I always find something! It doesn’t work if you want an ‘instant’ idea. Commentors can be very helpful.

    2. I didn’t know too many tags marked you as spam either. I thought tags helped others interested in your topic find your posts. I guess I’ll stop using so many tags. I don’t know about “Live Writer.” I need to find out about this.

  2. #1-I like my post to follow a theme or subject.
#2-I have no idea how tags work.
#3-I have no idea what that means.
#4-Photos are an assset. No doubt.
    #5-No idea what that means
I hope that my participation has been useful. Merry Xmas.

  3. I use the Schedule a lot and would like to see possibilities like being able to set a default posting time, and to automatically date the next months posts…
For the rest I think that if you already know WHY you are blogging and WHAT you want to blog about, and then you decide how OFTEN to blog suits you best, then extra prompts to achieve this are largely unnecessary.
I’m delighted that WordPress asks it’s bloggers how the site could be improved… Bravo!

  5. Schedule is an invaluable tool. I sometimes find I have lots of stuff I want to talk about and other times I have nothing or don’t have the time. Schedule allows me to spread them out a bit in a useful manner without too much of a staggered posting flow.

  6. Interesting survey. I doubt I helped much anyhow. I’m not a blogger that want to blog on a daily basis.

  7. I need some quiet time each week for ideas to brew. Other than that I don’t have any formal goals or program that I follow. So far after almost 2 years, I have not run out of ideas, although some I’ve had are better than others. It is nice of the Daily Post to offer us topics, but except for the photo challenges, I don’t use them. I want to write based on my own inspiration, not on the same topic that 100,000 others are writing about. I do the photo challenges because most of the time they are fun, but if I come across one I don’t like or just don’t have any ideas for, I don’t use it. Thanks WP for being interested in how we write, and thanks for your great blogging platform.

  8. I filled out the survey but forgot to mention that I am clueless how to set up my blog…tags, how to get the badges to my page, how to get it so my reader’s can find what they want to read…
I understand everyone’s frustration in my blog, but I can’t find anyone in my small town…7,000 people, that knows how to help me. I found a friend of my daughter’s who blogs, but her site is totally different and didn’t know how to help me. I still don’t have a little photo to id my post on comments of other peoples blogs, or a way to do archives…well, it is a basic time line blog.
I do appreciate all the encouragement I’ve received from the other bloggers. Even got two “awards” last week with no idea how to accept or post the badges !
Thanks for listening…I’ll keep blogging away !
    Peace,

    1. Siggi, the WordPress community is filled with folks who are willing to help you. The Support and Forums section of the main WordPress site are really great; I have found that when I ask a question, I get a reply within a day or two (and sometimes an hour or two). 🙂

  9. Here for the 1st time. Sad day for the world. Mourning Whitney Houston. Another day to comtemplate doing, (writing or saying) whatever you think will help someone make it out of this wilderness….back into the arms of our creator. Husssssh…listen to that still small voice. I have not written anything here, but I have a lot of daily dottles to get my juices flowing. Just checking things out here so I don’t make a fool of myself. I usally don’t like reading. I’m a listener. Does anyone here use audio, (so I can listen, to what you are saying, rather than having to read it)? I better go now. Time is moving on….How many people here blog for a living? Or, write for others? After replying here would you visit my “fanpage” and “like” it. I need to get more people talking about me if I’m going to deliver this “baby” called “Promise Seed” Community Development Corporation. Here’s my link and thanks WordPress for this “space” and opportunity: http:facebook.com/promiseseedmarketplace
