  1. I’ll have to say, “Neither.” Time moves at its pace, regardless of our wish, or our desired ability to change it. Besides, I like the way time moves in my life now.

  2. I’d love to be able to speed up time during the days that drag on at work, or during those awkward or boring moments that you just wish would hurry up and end so you can get out of there.

  3. Who needs to speed up time? I’d rather slow it down whenever I wanted, like when I am spending time with loved ones. I also think a child’s year should last 1,825 days instead of 365 – 5 yrs for every age of childhood. Then we can enjoy the childhood years more.

  4. Much rather have the ability to slow it down. There are magic moments in life that I’d like to go on forever. Or maybe it’s the feeling inside that I’d like to last forever and not the moment itself?

  5. Well its depends.., sometime i would like time to slow down ,for example when i am spending my time with my loved ones, and of course yes while i am sleeping.. 🙂
And time should really rush up when i am not in mood to work at my office which usually happens on Fridays… 🙂

  6. Hi Scott,
What a fantastically genius question to ask – I started with instant reactions to more surface reasons for wanting either course.
But then you begin to see more deeply and realise how complex and subtle the implications are, or could be.
Please would you link me in with any blogs occurring from this deeply interesting topic.
Thank you, you are doing a grand job and a great service in expanding our thinking and outlook on life.

  7. I would like to have a remote control kind of thing that would allow me to speed time up when I wanted to and slow it down when I wanted to.

I think I see a scifi novel here. Maybe a movie, a TV series?

Anybody got J. J. Abrams number?

  8. Great question! It would be cool if we could do both sometimes–i.e. rewind at certain points, and fast-forward during others!

  9. Since it’s one choice or the other, I would def say slow down time because there are more things in life I want to enjoy and not fly by than there are things I want to fly by. Life in general is something to savor not to let pass you by.

  10. Definitely slow down time. That’s probably the realization of the true meaning of “getting more done with lesser time”.

  11. I would rather have the ability to speed up time, this suites me best because, I am at a point in my life where I am waiting for replies from potential future employers. I am also keen on finding out whether I will recieve funding for the next academic year.

All this waiting just makes me anxious, I wish I could get a tiny little pick into the future:-)

I would rather be in a world without time ! But while living on this earth, I would like to slow down time so as to work more hours on developing my understanding and soul purpose. surekhakothari.wordpress.com

  13. Why would anyone choose to speedup time? What might be the case? If you are in jail and wants to go out fast then speed up time. But in most cases, speeding up time would be a second choice.
