Ten Important Things I’ve Learned About Blogging | Confessions of a Pioneer Woman

1. Be yourself.

2. Blog often.

3. Be varied.

4. Exercise more.

5. Allow your boundaries to set themselves naturally.

6. Bring back retro phrases like “hanky panky.”

7. Don’t be afraid to embarrass yourself.

8. Try your best to spell words correctly and use proper grammar.

9. If you have writer’s block, push through and blog anyway.

10. Value every person who takes time out of their day to stop by your blog.

  5. I like “Be Yourself”. I often read blogs where it is obvious that the person is trying to write in another voice, reaching too hard to be funny, cute, contoversial, whatever. Be Yourself when you write! Judy

  6. Love all ten tips, especially # 3, be varied. I’ve read so many places that you should find a “niche” and blog about that….how dull would that be?

  14. I like #s 4 and 6 the most. #4 because it’s what I need to do, and #6 because it’s fun. I’m going to bring back icebox, car house, and light bread. #3 is good too; if I had to stick to just one subject, I would bore myself silly.

  15. Dont be afraid to embarass yourself : know what, Ive been bold in fits and starts… just see my blog innerdialect … its almost a dare to self.A week later sometimes Ive rushed back to hit Edit. One blogger rremarked, : ” its like you cant wait to say it like it is…”

  22. I have just joined wordpress to write a blog about my experiences following an internet marketing course. At 58 its an amazing departure from what I am used to and this was the very first blog post I read! Obviously a signpost just for me!
