Who was the first person who believed in you?

  2. My elementary tutor. When I arrived from Mexico to the U.S no one really believed I would be able to learn English. I had learning disabilities. However, all it took was someone that made learning into fun. I played my way to becoming a proficient reader and writer. Thank goodness for people that can teach like this.

  8. Probably Me! I can remember one of my aunts telling me off for being too independent, so I guess I was always confident of being able to handle things on my own.

  9. My husband was the first to believe in me and he was the first person to love me unconditionally. I was born to two alcoholic parents who abused me. I thought my name was stupid idiot until I was five years old and my kindergarten teacher told me what my name was. I have PTSD just from being a child.

    My husband is a saint and I believe he must walk on water next to Jesus. We have been married now for more than thirty-two years and he still believes in me.

  12. Besides my parents, the first person to believe in my talent would have been my first grade teacher, Mrs. Bressler. Mrs. Bressler lived below us in the same apartment building. As a first grader, she encouraged me to write. I wrote a small book, complete with illustrations. She would come up and visit me and help me with my writing. She also took us to museums, such as the Marco Polo Museum in NYC, as well as art museums. I was fortunate to be exposed to great art at such an early age. It has stayed with me throughout my entire life.

  14. I know this sounds self centered, but the first person who believe in me is ME. When no one else believe in me and my dreams, I hold on to my belief that I can do it.

    But maybe, it’s not me, but God who first believes in me. Besides, isn’t it enough that He created me to be born in this world? Maybe He believes that I can be of use, or greater use and can do greater things. And in that, I find my comfort. 🙂

  15. My husband and I raised and educated six children. I always let them know that I was in their corner and I believed in them. My oldest daughter was the one that insisted that I go back and complete my education. I said, ” I am doing OK, I don’t need any more education.” Her battle cry was: ” you pushed us, so now you go. I discovered my love of the arts in College when I was in my 50’s.

  18. Well it wasn’t my parents, they did the opposite. And it wasn’t my teachers. Bizarrely it was our church organist and his wife. When I was causing trouble at home and my parents called in their friends for help and to back them up, instead they sided with me and told my parents that the child’s happiness should always come first.

  28. My teacher in Primary 7 – final year before high school in Scotland. I had been ignored for the whole of my primary school education and placed in the bottom groups. Everyone copied my work! They had no interest or time for me…I was very shy. She came along and was furious on my behalf as she could see I did have a brain! She pushed me forward and got me up to speed in just one year. I went to high school with great grades and then managed to get a degree. I discovered lately that she died some time after I knew her. She had came into my life and saved me education wise. What a wonderful person she was! It is amazing the impact one person can have on another when they truly believe.
