Yesterday’s topic was lame. Even I didn’t like it. It’s time to get some fresh ideas.
This post is a call for your suggestions. What topic do you want to see 1000s of bloggers write about? Leave a comment.
We did this before, but I’ve used up most of the good ones. If you think I overlooked a great one of yours, give it another shot.
We’re getting close to the 2/3rds mark on our journey towards a year of posting every day (or week, or less than a week but more than you would otherwise). Hang in there. We’re almost on the home stretch.

1) Quality of writing vs. Posting every day.
I know I have sacrificed having a well written post to meet the need of writing every day. I figure it is like a digital camera. If there are enough of them some of them are bound to be good, but am I hurting the overall blog?
2) assemble your ultimate dinner party guest list from all people dead or alive (Trite, but fun for the writer and if done well for the reader too)
3) Anything about Zombies.
4) BRAINS!

What’s one “luxury” you refuse to live without? (Fancy morning coffee? Cleaning service? Mani/pedis? Fantasy football league? Happy hour? Etc.) What would it take to have you give up that luxury for a month? A year? Would you ever give it up? If not, why not?

Write a single sentence summarizing the most important/impactful/valuable thing that occurred in the course of a year for every year you have been alive. (So, if you are 18 years old, you’d have 18 sentences, ideally with the first sentence representing birth to 1, the second sentence representing 1-2 years old, and so on…)

This sounds fun to write and fun (and worthwhile) to read! 🙂

Thanks! I did it a similar exercise once for my career (I identified one person I was ‘most grateful’ for each year I was employed, and wrote 1 sentence about why they were the ‘person of the year’) – and I felt tremendous afterwards. 🙂

When did you last have a major mind shift. We tend to go along on past behaviors or beliefs, but few of us get through life with out one or two major shifts. What was yours, what do you think precipitated it.
Religion is a good example” some give up their chilldhood relligion, others convert to a new religion. (And yes, some stay with childhood beliefs, but that is not the purpose of the question.

If I could spend a day doing anything I wanted, I would fly to New York with my boyfriend and go shopping. Then we’d go to California and sunbathe on the beach. Then we’d go for an amazing meal in an expensive restaurant. Then we’d stay in a ridiculously over-priced hotel and have a bubble bath with wine by candle light.

I guess my suggestions last time weren’t good enough to be considered, so I’ll try again with some 5Ws this time…
Who was the first person who believed in you?
What was the greatest challenge of your childhood?
When in history would you like to spend a few days?
Where would you like to live, if language and expense were no object?
Why do you write?

Apparently my suggestions last time weren’t “good enough” as well. 😉 Alas, writing (and style, and preferences) are all subjective. Here’s to staying true to oneself! 🙂

I’ve been watching reruns of “Jericho” recently. It’s a television show about a Kansas town isolated from civilization when most of America’s major cities are hit by nuclear bombs and all communications go down and there’s no electricity. So the question is, “If civilization as we know it came to an end, would you kill someone over your six-month supply of tuna fish?”
