1. Woah, this is interesting. I’ve always been interested in my name, seeing as I’ve got a boy’s name even though I’m a girl. And it’s not even a common name like Sam, which can be thought of as a nickname for Samantha or something…. erg >.<

11. My grandmother, Desha Shepherd, was born in 1880. The story was, she was named after a dear friend of her father. We assumed it was a male friend, but in 2000, after a lot of research, we discovered one Desha near where Grandmother was born, a woman, about the same age as her father, who was born about 1850. There are other Deshas but that’s all I know.
