If you could see any music act from history, who would you pick?

Topic #87:

Imagine you get a magic gold ticket that lets you travel through space and time to grab any band, or music act, living or dead, together or broken up, and transport them to play live at a venue near you. Who would you pick? Why?

    1. Ah, because maybe all you have to do is slip through to an alternative space where your favourite band is playing just around the corner!

  1. Forgot to write why? I love the doors, and Jim and Ray were big influences for my love of great cinema and poetry! They had some awesome tastes and had me wanting to explore outside the box!

Obrigado,

  4. I was 7 when The Beatles came to New York – far too young to go see them, even if my parents had been willing to indulge me… Never had a chance to see them, though I managed to see Paul, George and Ringo individually over the years. I once went to a Beatles tribute show and felt really dumb, though I sang along to every song…

  5. I definitely want to see The Beatles. I was born 20 years after they disbanded and had the chance to appreciate their songs 3 years after George’s death. They’re one of the reasons why I love Rock/Pop songs with very witty lyrics .

  8. I’m a huge fan of Michael Jackson’s song and dance, so I would love to have seen him performing live with his brothers when he was a teen, and then when he went solo. I believe he was one of the greatest all-around entertainers of our time.

    great topic…hugmamma. 🙂

  9. It would have to be Johann Strauss Jr. He was born in Austria in 1825 and although his Father wanted him to be a banker Johann jr wanted to play music. Thank goodness that he did otherwise we would never have got to appreciate such wonderful music, Johann wanted most of all that ordinary people would actually ENJOY music and so he put fun in to music. During his life he composed over 500 waltzes, polkas and quadrilles. Sadly he died in 1899.
However all was not lost for today is music and the fun of listening and being entertained is continued in the form of Andre Rieu, I have never been able to attend one of his fantastic concerts but I do have a DVD which I constantly play. It me into another world where I am completely engrossed in the music of Johann Strauss. As a younger person I would never have appreciated such genius but now I can see the difference.
Oh , yes this kind of music is most definitely here to stay and unlike the ” music stars” of today who will be forgotten in a few short years, Johann and his music have survived them all.

  10. I love the Woodstock soundtrack but don’t know if I could have handled actually being there or not. I would have loved to see the Beatles, the Who, Led Zeppelin, maybe some of those blues guys Muddy Waters, Stevie Ray Vaughn etc.
