Brought to you by Plinky.com:
What’s the longest you’ve been without sleep?
If your blog is about work, tell the story of an all-nighter you have pulled. If your blog is about an area of interest, tell a story of the last time you missed sleep, or got up extra early, to do something you enjoy.

Good topic idea! Probably about 18 hours…

Mina!

That’s not very long ago when I was catching the deadline for a few assignments *that’s purely student thing

I know it was around 24 hours, give or take a couple, when I was flying back home from visiting Israel in 2010 or Istanbul in 2005 (I slept on one or two of the four legs total). I was up a long time on both trips. Normally, I don’t stay up that long, not anymore.

This could be a good post. One project (in ’99 I think) had myself and one other developer working from Sunday afternoon straight through to the following Wednesday morning.
However many hours that comes out to. *shudders*

I fear I may be a big of a lightweight here…but the longest I have been without sleep is 48 hours and that was during my finals at law school. I had 7 finals in 10 days and 3 ran on consecutive days. I had to study…no option.

I remember those college days. I’ve gone 36 hours (probably more) without sleep. Never again.

I think for many of us, college was the reason we stayed up an ungodly amount of hours. For myself, while studying in college, I lost count after 24hrs. but I’d say it probably went somewhere close to 30hrs.

This is a good one for a walk down memory lane… All nighters were routine during exam time. I would say 48 hours… 🙂

I watched most of the rescue of the Chilean miners, which must have been half a day + one night + another half a day or so. That’s the longest I’ve been up recently.
If I’m in a good flow and a job is almost done, I prefer to finish it even if it gets late. I send off the job and take it easy in the morning. Sometimes I actually get replies from other night owls. I always smile and nod understandingly when I see e-mails sent at 2:43AM.

I guess it was probably 36 hours on my way to India. I had a stop in Dubai for 6 hours and was afraid to close my eyes as I might fall asleep and miss my next flight. Although I have been up late working on drawings for my blog too!

In the past, when I worked on a publication that had a Monday deadline, I sometimes would sleep only a few hours Friday and Saturday nights and not at all Sunday night, (but that’s if you don’t count laying my head on my desk for a few minute nap). For fun I have lost sleep to watch meterorite showers, a comet, lunar eclipses and also for many sunrises. I’ve also drug various children out to look at either these phenomena or just the beautiful starry sky.

A little over 24 hours. Do you know what happened then? I passed out. I mean PASSED OUT. As hard as I tried to keep going, my body wouldn’t let me. I was at its mercy!
