I’ve never really needed to! I’ve kept my age “confidential” many times however. This prompt should bring about some very interesting stories.

Ha ha. in Bangladesh, each and every student lies about their age on their very first school certificate exam. Don’t believe it? Ask anyone who know about education and lifestyle in Bangladesh. 😆
I’ve been writing for post a week. Today, with a new blog, I’ve started another journey for post a day. Everybody wish me all the best. 😀 Here’s the link: http://dailysajib.wordpress.com

No, I’ve never lied about my age for two reasons, firstly I usually get it wrong because I genuinely can’t remember and second because most people seem to think I’m younger than I really am.
I will post a larger picture of myself when I write this blog shortly and you can all have a guess.

I have no choice but to lie about my age everyday. I am 45, mentally, but have to act all modest and report myself in the more mundane chronological form: 22. Damn conventions!

No I have never lied about my age. When I actually said my age they think I am lying because I look younger than I am. My son has though and gotten by with it.

When I first moved to New York for my Master’s degree I lied to my classmates and said I was 21. I was only a few months away and I was already by far the youngest in the program- my friends were 25-36. I just didn’t want to be considered too young or too uncool to hang out with the witty and wonderful women of New York.
And soon I was witty and wonderful myself =)

I missed out the boring years, ie 26, 31, 41 and now I’m 61, but so far haven’t had to tell anyone. Might say 62 or 60 something.
Over my life – I have usually added on a year. It’s a family thing. I look years younger than I am, so don’t need to lie in the conventional way.
But – sometimes I don’t feel: I have to be exact (like Adrian Mole aged 13 and a half) or to be truthful. Not sure why? It’s often an impertinent question, perhaps!

I might have said that I was 12 when I was actually 3 or 4. No one believed me.
Funny, this age business. For a child, it’s a huge difference between being 4 and 4-1/2. Have you ever heard a senior say that he or she is 78-1/2?

Yes I have done it a couple of times, but mainly due people tend to think I am about 4 o 5 years younger, so….I just did not clarify anything, no need indeed

Nope, most people think I’m lying about my age anyway. I’m going to be thirty next month, meaning I 29 now. Most people think I’m 18 or younger, until I start speaking. Then I get funny looks. My grandparents and father have the same issues. It’s rather amusing when we go places together.

I really don’t have to lie about my age as it wouldn’t prove anything. I look remarkable younger than I am. When I was younger it was a problem as I was always asked for idi at bars etc. My boyfriend at the time was under twenty one and wasn’t asked. I didn’t think it was fair. Now I almost have to prove that I am a senior. If they think I am younger than I am I just take it as a complement.
It really isn’t good to lie about things as it can always come back to bit you in the but. We always try to impress on the kids not to lie so we need to set them a good example. Everyone tells little white lies from time from time but I am not sure that it is a good idea. Honesty is the best thing if you can. You just have to make sure you are not hurting other people or yourself in the bargin.
