Topic #8 (just 357 to go).
These topics are optional – if you don’t like ’em, don’t use ’em. Feel free to post something else, or explain why you don’t like this topic as your topic. It’s all good.
Here’s today’s topic idea – brought to you by Plinky:
How do you stay focused on a task or activity? What do you do when you need to concentrate or get things done? (Say, writing a blog post).
If this suggestion doesn’t fit your blog’s general topic (e.g. Your blog is about your amazing lack of ability to focus) that’s ok. Simply apply the question by adding or changing some words. If you’re a photo-blogger, take an out of focus picture, or with a focus setting you’ve never used before.
Reminder: Do not answer this in the comments. That would be very silly. You should grab this topic and write a post about it on your blog.

But what if I posted on FOCUS already? 🙂

Nice post – looks like you have 5 posts in there.
How about you go the other way: what do you do when you need a distraction and you want to lose focus or take a break?

Hmm. Actually, I think that first “I’m going to FOCUS” post could have one one your topic here – HOW – and then follow it with what you just suggested as well. Thanks for the spark.

Thank you Scott!
Even though some of my posts are up before yours arrive, I always look forward to reading your Dailypost emails. They definitely add extra cheer to my day. 🙂
I did the right thing signing up for this challenge via WordPress and I just wanted to let you know that your effort to encourage us is appreciated.
Have a great day! 🙂

Easy, Peezy… Since I am a Chef I just Cook! Creating new recipes and then cooking them is time consuming, but the rewards are endless.
go to my web sites and see for yourself. The Joy of cooking good food, and also helping others realize it does not need to come from a box or frozen section of the grocery store makes me focused each and every day…!

I’m enjoying these fun ideas that daily post brings me. I’m not posting about them or going for what the topic says, but, these topics from daily post and plinky is it gives me a great idea to possibly do a post about in the future. Maybe not today, or tomorrow, but maybe in the future in a fictional story I wrote or even as a personal blog post.
I wonder how many people like me are trying to focus on a single topic. I’m focusing on fictional stories every Friday.

Great idea, thanks Scott! I had the perfect post for this theme (Time Management in an Information Overload Age bit.ly/gj8bmk) to bad I posted it yesterday. We’ve gotta to do a better job of being in sync with our themes! 🙂

I find is so hard to stay focused, I wonder how I would write a blog about it?
Maybe I’ll write about something else =)

I play a kind of game–I tell myself–whatever happens today–that is the blog. It might just be an announcement of a poetry contest or a question from a student. But often it can be a memory, an image, an inspiration.
Enjoying reading these comments.

8 days into the challenge, I don’t feel like writing anything original. I’ll give my brain a rest. Tomorrow, topic #9 is waiting.

For me it was really easy once I figured it out. Find something you are very interested in and the focus will come naturally. Why make things more complicated than they really are?

I stay focused by leaving behind the things that distract me. Turn on some Jazz and get busy. If the phone rings I don’t answer. I also sing so I have to allow myself ample time to practice to perfection.

To stay focus I try to put everything else out of my mind. I switch everything off except the TV if I am at home, the radio in the car and work as I like background noise. My husband and family always complain because they have to watch programes twice. Because I watch the same programmes again.
